Oklahoma columnist defends herself

Gundy-closeup-thumb.jpgHere's columnist Jenni Carlson's answer to Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy's now-infamous, over-the-top, unprofessional, wildly entertaining rant after Saturday's big victory for the Cowboys.

It takes a lot for the rest of America to know or care anything about Oklahoma State football. But this qualifies.

Here's the original rant in case you've been camping in the Brooks Range in northern Alaska and missed it.

Neil, whats going on with Carlin/Jones?

Nothing is going on with Carlin/Jones. Kim is busy until the Yankees are done.

There are actually those of us that love and care about college football and live 30 miles from Manhattan, Neil.

You're better than to make snide comments like that.

I wasn't referring to college football in general, Tom. I was referring to Ok. State specifically.
Go Rutgers!

I agree with Jason Whitlock "The column...is absolutely indefensible."

she (Carlson) ripped a kid by tying together a string of Internet rumors and out-of-context comments made by Reid to her co-workers. She basically called Reid a wimp and justified it by saying “if you believe the rumors and the rumblings.”

Carlson checked her profesionalism at the door.

Neil, are you picking up Imus buzz emanating from the NAB Confab?

ChannelXRFR,
The buzz from the NAB Confab is very hard to hear from my basement.

Jenni Carlson looks way too young to be a columnist at a major newspaper, maybe that is the problem here. Whitlock talking about "professionalism" has to be a joke, right?

"Major?''

It's a shame that Gundy wasn't willing to the right thing and apologize for his irrational outburst. Having been irrational myself on several occasions, I know it isn't easy to nut-up and make amends.

Also, if you watch Gundy's news conference on Monday, where he refuses to apologize, he takes several drinks of Red Bull. Clearly, he had too many cans of that before the maniacal briefing/lecture he had given previously.

Neil, I pictured you ensconced in the journalistic equivalent of the Batcave. Even so, you still manage great work out of the "basement". Keep us posted
ThanX

I've had diet Red Bull. Awful. I prefer diet Mountain Dew.
