ESPN did some good stuff on Michael Vick, some bad
Check out this balanced, but bluntly honest, column from ESPN's ombudsman, Le Anne Schreiber.
In it she examines the Worldwide Leader's coverage of the Michael Vick saga in detail, and reveals some dark corners into which ESPN traveled.
You gotta give ESPN credit for even having an ombudsman. Schreiber is the second, following George Solomon.
Said executive VP John Skipper: "I can tell you there are a few people walking around here [in Bristol] saying, 'Why in the world did we hire somebody to tell us what's wrong with us?'''
But Skipper said: "I think it’s been good for us.''
