Watchdog

Dan Patrick has come a long way since being profiled in my newspaper column Tuesday. He returned to the ESPN Radio airwaves Wednesday and will be at it again through Friday, when he leaves the network after 18-plus years.

The coolest thing, though, is his new Web site, which includes a . . . blog. How could it not?

Someday in the not-too-distant future I see myself doing a feature for my blog about the last American without a blog. I will find him living in a log cabin in the Idaho panhandle, where he hunts bison for food and has only a dial-up Internet connection.

Did I mention I once sat in front of Patrick at a screening of "The Longest Yard?'' He was in it. I was not.
