Watchdog

This is a bit of an awkward time to bring this up, given my statements in the previous item and how much this blog has benefited from interest in the story of what CBS Radio/WFAN will do with Don Imus' old morning slot, but . . .

I did want to share with you the fact that Tuesday, for the first time since WatchDog launched May 2, I was given official traffic numbers reflecting just how many of you have been checking out the blog.

I don't think I'm allowed to provide you with the exact numbers, and even if I were, my shyness and modesty would prevent me from doing so, but I will say that I was shocked (in a good way) by them. And I wanted to thank all of you profoundly for helping the blog grow in scope and popularity, especially the regular commenters who have educated and/or entertained me and other readers.

But there's a big, Internet-connected world out there. Let's not stop here. I'm hoping to double the numbers by the end of the year, then celebrate by leaving my basement and making a snow angel. As long as the unfamiliar sensation of fresh air doesn't make me sick.
