Wow, that was like sad ans surreal all at the same time
Warrior was blowing wind DURING limping/running into the ring. But he made superplex from the third rope, I'll give him that. Hogan would never do it. But the whole match was just brutal. Overall - pathetic and sad. At the end some fan flipped him ;)
I am going to guess that the conclusion of this was an Orlando Jordan finisher...Warrior is down...Jordan for the cover...1....2...Warrior kicks out...OMG...Warrior is up...he blocks three punches by Jordan...Warrior off the ropes...clothesline...Warrior off the ropes again...another clothesline...ok a very winded Warrior off the ropes again...clothesline...Warrior lifts up Jordan for the press slam and then splashes Jordan...1...2...3...Warrior wins...and is now helped backstage in a wheel chair...wow painful to watch...
p.s..he did win for those who dont know and relinquished the title right after the match.
hahaha he blew up limping to the ring he cant even run anymore well its not like he hasnt already ruined his legacy (see wcw) which reminds me of bret hart im on the fence as to wether wcw ruined his legacy he didnt do much all i can remember is that he had that kickass match with benoit right after owen died
I don't see a comparison to Warrior and Hart at all. When Warrior came to WCW he was a bad worker with bad writing. In WWF, UW had great marketing to make him look good so many fans either didn't notice how awful he was or frankly didn't care because they were distracted by his colorful outfits and rocking music. As for Bret, he was an amazing worker and came to WCW because WWF booted him out. He was not the flashiest mic worker, but great inside the ring and when he left the WWF he may have gone to the subpar WCW marketing machine, but he had the ability in the ring to make fans forget his lame storylines. Its just WCW at that time sucked so badly that no matter what he did, people will look back and remember his time at WCW forgettable...except for his Goldberg spear spot which was great.
So I think Bret Hart would have finished his career on a higher note if it wasn't for a ring ending injury. He could have easily made amends with Vince in 2002 and been back to work for WWE as an occasional worker like Hogan or Flair.
This is hysterical. But I must pose one question.
Which is worse, Ultimate Warrior attempting to wrestle, and looking like, well, the Ultimate Warrior; or the fact that Orlando Jordan was the champion? That has gotta tell you how bad that promotion was, ORLANDO JORDAN, CHAMPION! WTF!!!
Bret Hart is wrose then the Warrior, and here is why.
According to a report at WrestlingObserver.com, Bret Hart lashed out at wrestling journalists Greg Oliver and Steven Johnson at last night's George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame ceremony.
Hart was accepting an award on behalf of his late father Stu Hart when he turned his attention to Oliver and Johnson, who were on hand to accept awards for excellence in pro wrestling journalism. The Observer report says Hart went off on Oliver and pointed out the sacrifices wrestlers have made and that one of them didn't deserve to be there. Hart then said "either he goes or I go" according to the report. Johnson is said to have left to try to diffuse a bad situation, but Oliver stayed. Hart then left the ceremony along with several other wrestlers.
The Observer report points out that Hart hasn't liked Oliver since Oliver's book "Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame: The Canadians" listed him at number 14 on the list of greatest Canadian wrestlers ever.
With his rant last night, Hart proved again that he is one of the biggest marks in the business. He really believes he is the best wrestler in history, and that he holds a grudge against someone for ranking him number 14 among Canadians speaks volumes about his ego. His biggest achievement in the wrestling business was that he somehow managed to convince Vince McMahon and Eric Bischoff that he really was "the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be", and was able to get them to pay him much more than he was worth.
Wow, the saidest part was how half the crowd had already left before the match finished.....guess we wont see Warrior back again. YAY.
Yeah, that was difficult to watch. I was a huge Warrior mark back in the day and I'm left thinking I'd have been better off wonderin what his comeback would have been like than to actually see it.
Anonymous (if that is your real name), have you actually READ Oliver's book? It's so biased towards Ontarians that it borders on parody. I agree that subjectivity is inherent in any rating system, but somone who ranks Sky Low Low ahead of Bret Hart should be receiving an award for excellence in toilet paper production, not journalism.
Bret may have overreacted, but that one incident doesn't compare to the MOUNTAIN of prima donna stories about the Warrior. And as for comparing them as workers, well, do I have to?
Sorry, just to clarify: By "biased towards Ontarians" I meant that he was baised FOR them, not against them.
And considering a lot of wrestlers left with Bret, that makes me think he's not the only one that had a bone to pick with Oliver.
This is the new Steamboat vs. Flair. It really set the bar high for future generations.
