On TV Tonight: Monday Night Raw

As always, Monday night means Raw on USA, and with just two weeks to go to WrestleMania, the show is sure to be newsworthy.

After John Cena and Randy Orton called the shots on Raw over the last two weeks, its Triple H's turn tonight, and he has made sure to stack the odds against his two WrestleMania opponents. Orton and Cena are teaming tonight to take on their opponents - the entire Raw roster.

I'm curious what this will look like. I can't imagine the tag rope at the ring post is long enough to accommodate several dozen wrestlers, so my guess is that they'll be sent out a few at a time. And I imagine that Triple H's version of "the entire Raw roster" will consist of the likes of Snitsky, Super Crazy and other "enhancement talents" that otherwise wouldn't get on the show. Nevertheless, it could be fun.

In its preview of tonight's show, WWE.com says Raw will kick off with Chris Jericho interviewing the Big Show on the Highlight Reel. The big man will no doubt be hyping his match against Floyd Mayweather at WrestleMania. I thought the angle that kicked off this storyline at No Way Out was as hot as any I've seen in a long time, but since then, Mayweather has really let WWE down with his poor performances on television. Nonetheless, Show's been doing an honorable job of building some interest in the boxer vs. wrestler showdown. And the decision to recast Mayweather as the heel in this storyline was a good one, as "Money" Mayweather was earning himself no good will among fans.

I expect plenty of hype for WrestleMania matches featuring Raw superstars Finlay vs. JBL, Umaga vs. Batista, and the "Bunnymania" Divas tag team match. As well, I'd expect another chapter in the ongoing Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair saga. The Flair storyline involving his impending retirement was poorly handled by WWE writers for the first several months, but it's gotten back on track over the last few weeks as Flair has been allowed to do what he does best – talk.

I also imagine WWE will announce another member of its Hall of Fame Class of 2008 - perhaps Florida wrestler/promoter Eddie Graham or legendary announcer Gordon Solie - and will feature highlights from Vince McMahon getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

I also wonder whether the announcers will make any mention of Jeff Hardy, who has not only been suspended and pulled from his WrestleMania match, but also lost his home in a fire over the weekend.

I hope to be back with my thoughts sometime after the show.

I'm also curious about what the Orton/Cena vs. Raw roster match will look like. I could see a battle royal-type deal where everybody is attacking them at the same time, and Orton and Cena fight everybody off. But I don't know how they make that look believable,

I hate my DVR and I dont understand why more fans haven't complained about this. My DVR shuts off at 11:05 (even though I always program it to go to 11:15...sometimes it does, tonight it didn't) so I didn't see the ending.
I heard HHH's music. I just assumed he Pedigreed both of them.
