Alfonso has worked as a reporter for Newsday since 1999, most recently covering the Suffolk courts beat. He's a lifelong fan of pro wrestling, which he has covered inside the pages on Newsday, as well as for various magazines and web sites. Before coming to Newsday, he worked on the popular "Get in the Ring" radio show on WGBB, and later hosted his own wrestling radio show on the station. He counts Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin as his wrestling heroes, but admits to having been a total Ultimate Warrior mark as a kid.

hey alfonso can you email me with from your account. I lost your email recently.
Hey Brother!!! I finally found ya B-) Now, since this is another Furious column on the web, I think for a real discussion amongst us wrestling fanatics, you should have a "What's wrong with TNA and how to fix it" discussion. Unfortunately, I watched Victory Road last night and felt like a dirtbag: DISGUSTED!!! Let the converted and nonconverted be treated to a sermon from the gospel of the Furious One. Later brother.
Keep up the great work guys. Your opinions are always valued by us @ The Mayhem. The invitation is open to swing on by w/your expert opinions!

So I was catching up on reading some other wrestling news when I came across your name. It was your story about 9/11. I know I have never met you but over the months since I have become a reg to the site I feel like I kinda have a small insight to you and Seths life as of late. I was relieved to know your girlfriend was OK and everything worked out. Its wierd but 9/11 means so much to me now because I celebrate the first responders who rushed in the buildings as well as the amazing passengers and crew of Flight 93. 9/11 isnt a day of mourning for me but a day of celebration that America can get over any obsticle that is put in front of it. Once again I was very much relieved after reading and hearing that everything was OK for you and your girlfriend on that world changing day. PS: Are you still with your girlfriend?
Hey there Kev. Just reading this now. Thanks for the kind words. Indeed, my then-girlfriend is now my wife, and we're expecting our first kid in January. I forgot all about that article. Where did you find it?
Great Blog. One suggestion: Could you guys sign your entries at the top instead of the bottom? I always wonder who's blog entry I'm reading until the end, or until I scroll down and read it before resuming the article. Thanks! Again, I really enjoy the writing!
