Miss Jags? He's on the tube

I'm told Universal Sports, a cable arm of NBC, will broadcast the outdoor KHL All-Star Game between Team Yashin and Team Jagr Saturday live at 8 a.m. ET from Red Square in
Moscow and then have an encore presentation later.

I'm not exactly sure which cable systems in the New York area carry Universal. Will try to ascertain, or if ya can't wait, my guess is that my successor on the sports media trail Neil Best will have that info on his Watchdoggie blog before I get off the plane to brrr...Buffalo later today.

On the Rangers front, everybody in the know expects Henrik Lundqvist to formally be named an All-Star reserve at noon. Newsday's Katie Strang will be at practice for reax and to gather other news...

Renney is an anvil tied around the necks of all the Rangers keeping them down in mediocrity and ruining everybody's confidence and creativity.

Fire Renney!

Package Gomez, Baranka, Fritsche and Korpikoski for Kovalchuk.

Both Verizon and Time Warner carry the Channel. Time Warner Ch 162. Verizon Ch 464

Ugh~

ANOTHER Dismal loss to a team that has a lot of key players on IR; and once again, the R's don't show any killer instinct. Pathetic.

It showed the other night against the Pens. Sure they won, and got the SO too, but if you watched the game more closely, the Pens were always one shot away from scoring. Too many turnovers in the R's zone (at least 6 in the first period); sloppy skating and puck support; and too many cross ice and reverse passes in the red zone!!! AAAHH!!!!!

The Pens PP was non-existent; the R's didn't need to do anything to defend. How is it that a creative team like the Pens are STANDING STILL on the PP? Especially when it was 5 on 3???

I am sure I will be lambasted, but I don't think Henrik is all that. He has yet to show me anything amazing, or at least, solid. If opposing players were not allowed to shoot high on him, he'd be a Vezina winner. Too bad his top shelf defense is weak.

So, last night, it all came back to reality. Too many lazy passes, or going for the hail mary; dismal puck support; porous defense at the blue line; and a lack of desire.

The first goal scored by Kovalev was an indicator. Where was the back check? Where was the defense of the slot? Hello?

BTW, to poster bob; Kovalchuk has no interest in coming to NY; this is a widely known fact. I do agree that Gomez is not doing it. As much as I like his speed, and his ability, I don't think he looks all that sharp.

I'd move him, Voros, and Kalinin; just not sure what to address first. Blue line, or scoring?

Sometimes the blueline shows flashes of brilliance, and others.....

This team is going nowhere, and fast. UGLY!!!!!

"Kovalchuk has no interest in coming to NY; this is a widely known fact"

Who, what, when, where?

When has Kovalchuk ever expressed this?

All I do is think, sleep and read hockey, all day long and I have never ever heard that.

In fact, I have actually heard the opposite, please show me proof that Kovalchuk hates the NYR.

"Kovalchuk has no interest in coming to NY; this is a widely known fact."

why on earth would he not be interested in playing here on a line with Zherdev?

Does Kovalchuk have a no-trade clause? I don't see the Rangers even being in the ballpark for him unless the sell their future (draft picks).

Being that Russia is moving towards communism/fascism again, I don't think Jags wants to live under that again. I think he'll come back to the nhl next year.

pfft... theres so much damn money over there, and thats what jagr cares about. hes playing tax free and is provided with anything he wants, except defibrulators of course. if anything, THATS reason enough to leave.

Icecup.......I read that teams in Russia are broke and some players aren't even getting paid....so there's some kind of misconception here re: 4 in Russia.

Bob, I'd make that trade but think ATL will want more, a lot more for him, and they'll get it as well.

Like I said in my last post, I really feel Hendrik has had it with the lack of support in front of him and his play shows...best move to make is give his a couple of days off, yeah, even w/the AllStar Break com'n up...play Valle vs Ott and the NYI at least. __[][]__
