King makes All-Star squad

The rest of the Eastern Conference roster for the All-Star game was just released at 11:30 and Henrik Lundqvist will represent the Rangers. Not a shocker there...will have his reaction as well as Renney's and his teammates later...

I love Henrik and everything, but I think the Rangers player most deserving of the honor is either Staal or Callahan. Henrik has been merely mortal that past month and a half (excluding the Penguins game).

^

No way is Staal All Star worthy. He's been real good, but not an all star. Callahan just doesn't have the numbers, either.

Henrik deserves it, even though he's not been great every game.

^

Callahan: you're right. I forgot that hitting isn't allowed at the All Star game and they really aren't playing hockey. My bad.

FIRE RENNEY!! FIRE RENNEY!! FIRE RENNEY!! Boy, it would be nice to hear the Garden chanting that one after our upcoming road-trip! FIRE RENNEY!! FIRE RENNEY!! FIRE RENNEY!! Does anyone think this mess is fixable with Renney behind the bench?

Please keep Henrik out of the net for the skills competition. Remember that is how Dipietro blew out his other hip. Let him play 1 period in the game and thats it.

DS- Ricky Dipietro can blow out a hip walking into his elevator heading down to the game. The guy is made out of glass.

Its stupid anyway. Lundqvist has deserved to be an allstar for the past 3 years, and if anything, this is the first year he may not be totally deserving, but like I told all those idiot islander fans last year, every team needs to be represented somehow. Thats how ricky red light got on the team when he was only the third best goalie in new york state (if you include buffalo)

Hank needs to get some consistancy going. This team is built like crap, and he is the only hope for any playoff run. If he isnt playing that ridiculous stellar goaltending (which is unfair as a burden to him, but reality), then we are screwed.

Congrats to Lundqvist...well deserved...BUT...

DS is right.......the WORST thing I would want is my goalie to be in an All-Star Game/ all teh other events.
I wouldn't even want him playing a period in the game.
They are nothing but a dartboard in these games.

Dino....
Nice comments....
Luv ya too.

Sorry Islander505, I should have wrote "those islander fans"

Definitely not you lol.

BTW- How about that Streit. All offseason I was saying we should avoid redden and spend less for Streit. Of course not, we are the rangers, we need to sign past prime overpaid players.

Dino:

Not every team needs representation (isles didn't have a rep 2 times in the last 10 years) DP earned his spot, lot good it did him though.

Congrats to Henrik, without him your conversations may be looking a little bit more like ours.

agree with 505 - really wish henrik was not in AS game especially the skills competition. besides dp even closer to home for us was richter got hurt in skills competition

Dont I know it healy. I am a ranger fan, I bleed blue, but this team would be in the same crappy situation it was in prior to Hank without him.

Sather cannot put a competant group together. His saving grace is getting lucky with the sixth round pick that became Lundqvist.

wow I am braindead. I wrote Healy as the name in the above post.

Wow im braindead...I wrote Healy in my name for the last comment.

There is no doubt that the ASG Richter was in contributed to his health, and I think he once even admitted that in an interview if I remember correctly. i will say that Hendrik is the only Ranger who deserves to go, however, if the league was looking for another representative, I would choose Staal or Mara- they both have been consistent this year and Staal is growing into our #1 d man very nicely...I just wanna see him carry the puck more like Leetchy did.

as far as Sather, I am NOT Happy w/him at all, but he did sign Hendrik and a couple of terrific prospects ie: Grachev and Del Zotto for example....then again, it doesen't take a rocket scientist to know talent _X_

Henrik Lundqvist will allow 12 goals in the period he will play.
It seems like if his defense is good he is in fact King Henrik but
if the defense allows give aways or other bad plays he should be
on a ham on rye. Anyone who has seen All-Star game knows
there is no defense at all. I'm a Ranger fan and I've seen every
game this year. There are some games I wished Vali was in net.
I hope he starts stepping up the 2nd half.

The difference between Richter and Lundqvist is Mike came up
big when the 5 in front of him let him down.

Maybe he can build on this
