GAMEDAY LIVE: Canucks at Rangers

Hey Rangers fans! Katie here to blog you through tonight's game against Markus Naslund's old team, the Vancouver Canucks. The King will be facing one of the other best goalies in the league, Roberto Luongo. Should be a great matchup.

Couple interesting things from Renney pre-game:

Scott Gomez received treatment yesterday, acupuncture to be more exact, and is feeling a lot better. Renney said he will skate on his own tomorrow, but is unlikely against Ottawa:

"I have a hard time seeing him in [against Ottawa]."

Renney said the Vancouver Canucks will always have a special place in his heart, as that's the team from his home province and the team that gave him his NHL coaching start. Renney said the time spent coaching there allowed him to grow up, understand the professional athlete, and appreciate the partnership between coaching staff and players.

Renney also reiterated that he believed Ruutu's shot against Lundqvist was an illegal attempt, but with respect to Ruutu, Renney said he thought Ruutu believed he still had a play.

Feel free to debate that one on the blog tonight. Be back after the puck drops.
