Acupuncture helping No. 19
Scott Gomez (ankle) visited a local acupuncturist, and he might have a light skate tomorrow.
"It's as good as he''s felt all along," Rangers coach Tom Renney said of Gomez, who missed his fourth consecutive game tonight. "He had some good treatment." But Renney said he "would have a hard time" seeing the center play in Ottawa Saturday afternoon.
When someone joked that the healer's location included tarot reading, Renney quipped: "No, I’m doing that part, I do the cards..."

The Rangers' hot start to this point is somewhat unexpected, Renney conceded. Before the season, he said, "I hoped that we wold be in the top part of our conference, the top six or seven teams. We wanted to be in a playoff position sort of throughout the whole season, now we have to do what we can to sustain where we are."

Just around the corner from the press room here is a collectibles store selling Prague-worn blue jerseys. Patrick Rissmiller's---in a prominent position in the glass showcase---is priced at $560, higher than Michal Rozsival's and others. One problem: Rissmiller didn't see any action in the two games in the Czech Republic.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!
Looks like Henrik is tired of being hung out to dry by his defence. Good for him. Someone has to send the message to the team that their play is un acceptable. Will we ever see 60 minutes of hockey from these guys?
The PP has been a joke for the past three years, especially last year when it costs us first place and home ice. Are the assistants who's job it is to make the PP work be held accountable? It's not the personnel. These guys have been succesful on the PP elsewhere. You would think that Prucha, who proved taht he can score on the PP, would get a shot. That's the soft spot on this team that will hurt us going forward. Henrik can't steal us every game. We have to able to win 6-5 games too.
exactly the reason we need a top six forward up front. preferably a second line 25+ left winger.
as long as he's not almost 40 and slow as molasses
Came out of the gates slow again......this team just doesen't have the desire to play in the 1st period and they have to be down in order for them to pick up their game...it defies logic 'ya know! ..Yes, Hendrik has kept us in games, and I hope, THIS GAME the players realize what they need to do as individuals and as a team to win. Pern, as I have stated before, needs to be replaced by a PP specialst/coach, cause under him nothing is working....nothing and how embarrassing it is that we have 7 shg against?....this is ridiculous already!
I would like to see Renny play Hendrik Saturday against Ott, then play Valle against FLA Sunday and Monday against PHO, as we have 3 games in 3 nights. \_ _
fla is a week from sun
No guys, there's no problem on the PP. Matter of fact, this team has no flaws, just a bad bump in the road to our 5th Stanley Cup! Oh wait, I'm not a kool-aid drinker...
Pitiful, don't bring up Prucha's name though, because people don't want to hear it because he's had so many chances. Gimme a break. The guy has over 50% of his goals on the PP... I don't care how much he doesn't produce, he deserves at least a shot on the PP. It can't get any worse. Want to know why Montreal always find themselves at the top of the PP ranking? Take a look who is on their coaching staff...Guy Carbonneau and Kirk Muller... great PP guys right there. Pearn has to go, maybe not as an assistant, but definitely as the PP coach. Since he is no longer on the NHLPA board, one person who I would love to see behind the PP plans of the Rangers is Mike Gartner. I guarantee he would have the team turned around in no time.
frank prucha is the last thing we need. the pp was ok the rest of the game was terrible. this team needs to waive prucha so people stop asking for him.
in general the pp is not good. but giving up 5 goals tonight was not because prucha was not playing
All I'm saying is it's not going to get any worse by giving him a shot. What the team really needs to do, if you read the rest of my post is totally change direction on the PP and bring in somebody new. Giving up five goals was awful. I love how Joe said Henrik just knows he doesn't have it, or knows it's not his night, when in fact Henrik was probably saying to himself where is my f'n defense and they are the ones that "don't have it" tonight.
yes, a week from Sunday vs Fla. Ok, I have been saying that Pearn has to go for a month now...he's just noe able to make the necessary corrections. I like very much the idea Frank brought up re: Gartner....that's at least a start towards finding Pearns replacement. And, when we do turn it around on the PP, we'll also be correcting the league leading SHG against as well......that is UNREAL!...btw, Valle played well in place of Lundquist tonight \_ _
I guess Sather is gonna wait till were fighting for a playoff spot to make some changes to this sorry cast of characters he has put together. The defence is a joke. You could replace Roszi, Kalinin and Redden with traffic cones and no one would know the difference. The coaches have no idea how to motivate this team to play for 60 minutes. There is no cap room. No one in their right mind will trade for the clowns we need to get rid of. Beautifull job Glen. I can't wait to see what you have in store for your next trick. Why don't you sign Claude Lemeiux for 6 years at 8 Mil a year and trade for Malik. That sounds about right. PATHETIC!!!!!
