Fashion Shoot: Hollywood eyes romantic comedy based on Avery...

Should have saw this coming.....

New Line Cinema is prepping a film based on ex-Ranger Sean Avery's experiences in the fashion world, including his stint as a summer intern at a fashion magazine, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Here's the gist of their item:

Avery, who considers himself something of a fashion jock, in May began a summer internship at Vogue, where, among other duties, he served as guest editor of MensVogue.com.

New Line, which is developing and will produce a big-screen account of his experiences in the fashion world and the relationships he made there, has hired ICM-repped Stan Chervin to write the screenplay. Contrafilms' Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson, who were behind New Line's sleeper hit "Journey to the Center of the Earth," will produce.

Avery, also repped by ICM, was a member of the NHL's New York Rangers at the time of the internship; he's since signed with the Dallas Stars. Avery told The Hollywood Reporter he's always been a fashionista. "I was always trying to be the best-dressed kid in school," he said.

Avery said that though his experiences made for great storytelling, it was his friends that pushed him into Hollywood's stylish threads. Lauryn Flynn, a friend and director of celebrity services at Burberry, brought the idea to her brother, Beau. Lauryn Flynn will co-produce.

The movie will be a romantic comedy.

Avery, an instigator and fighter who piles up penalty minutes, said he took some razzing for the experiences but has learned not to worry about the stereotypes of sport.

"I think it's great to be into something that you care about," he said. "But I'm still an athlete who likes to beat the crap out of people."

Man, I can't wait to miss that movie!
Yet another New Line piece of shiite!

I cannot wait to see this movie. I bought a 16oz bottle of KY Jelly.

#One, you should like have your mouth washed out with soap, ..My beloved player is so totally misunderstood here.....Watch that cute swivel when he skates, that totally "boyish grin". Dont hate him because he's Beautiful, snookie.

Would be absolutely great news to have him back as the real captain just like he was the past two years

I think I'm starting to understand why the rest of the league hates him

"That means Shanahan - who can play either side - would be competing with Petr Prucha, Patrick Rissmiller, Fred Sjostrom, Lauri Korpikoski, Andreas Jamtin, Hugh Jessiman, P.A. Parenteau, and perhaps Petr Nedved for a spot on the roster." - L. Brooks, NYPost

"Don't forget, Prucha has scored more goals as a Ranger since the lockout than any other current Ranger." - The Hockey Rodent.

Signing Shanny is going to bite us in the rump come Jan-Playoffs.
Look at all those names that Brooks mentioned. MAN IT"S NUTS TO THINK ONE of those kids can't produce just as well as Shanahan would.
I hear awesome things about that Jamtin kid. Parenteau seemed to be ready last season. Then there's Prucha.
Sather pull your head out of your 6 and take a good look around.

Strange, Parenteau didn't make the list? I wonder why?

If the guy proves me wrong, than I am wrong. But I have seen Parenteau play in a handful of games and was never impressed. Unlike Dawes and Dubinsky and Callahan who stand out at the AHL level, P.A. always just blended in...and I have read in many places that he will be an AHL "lifer". I will be shocked if he makes the team over a player like Anisimov or Korpikowski.

If Nedved makes the team over any of these players than I will be EXTREMELY disappointed.

Just a few more weeks...just a few more weeks...just a few more weeks...inhale...exhale...lol.

I think will all the surplus of fowards we have we should package away prucha and rissmiller for some draft picks. You could never get enough draft picks. Sign Shanny let hime play on the 3rd line and call it a day.

Naslund Gomez Zherdev
Dawes Drury Callahan
Shanny Dubi Fritshe/korpikoski
Voros Betts/Anisimov Sjostrom

If Anisimov impresses in training camp and makes the roster than why not move betts for another draft pick. Think about it we will have some great young talent ready for this year and the following year we shouldnt just stop there i wouldnt mind having 10 or 11 draf picks next year. Even if they are in the late rounds.

You have Anisimov, Korpikoski, Chereanov, Del Zotto, Sags, Byers, Potter, moore. My point is that we should take more chances on draft picks because we can always attract the best Free agents.

I am OK with him taking a spot. The team got younger.

I am also believing that management is not done either. I think Adam is right and there is going to be some trades to free up cap space and get some picks back.

Really, just a good spot to be in to be able to argue about all the talent that will be trying at camp this year.

I think the only way Shanny should be re-signed is if they get rid of Betts. Although you know what you are going to get from Betts, I'd like to see this guy Fritsche center the 4th line. I've heard good things about him and he has to be at least as good as Betts. This way, you can keep Prucha with say Dubi and Shanny on the 3rd line. I'm still not agreeing with it, btu that's the only way I would like to see it. I think Prucha deserves a fair shot...he's been crapped on and when he plays, he's still giving it all he has, like nothing changed. The only problem with this whole idea is money, but if Shanny seriously doesn't care about money, we could give him Betts money....even though everyone cares somewhat about money...

I do not see how it's possible Prucha stays in the lineup if we re-sign Shanahan.

I don't think so either....that's why I don't want to bring him back for a year and get rid of Prucha who could be here for a few years....just a thought, probably not a feasible solution

yeah, Shanahan coming back really makes no sense.

It really makes the signing of Rissmiller and Voros crazy unless something else big is on the horizon.

Exactly....what I don't get is that everyone is ridding off Prucha becasue he makes 1.6 mill, meanwhile Voros and Rissmiller both make a mill. Granted they are only 1 year contracts, but is .6 million that big a difference, especially when it's for a guy that can possibly net us 25-30 goals, which he has already done...something must be up because I don't think Voros and Rissmiller are both going to crack the starting lineup.
