Lundqvist nominated for Vezina...

...for the third consecutive year, along with Brodeur and Nabokov.

"He's one of the best, if not the best," said fellow Swede Fred Sjostrom. "I've seen him play so much over the years and he's getting better and better. He competes all the time, even in practice he gets ----- when somebody scores."

Said Sean Avery: "Congrats." Then, in typical Avery fashion:: "He's an amazing goalie with a sub-par style and a very thick wallet."

The King is certainly deserving, but the other two had terrific regular seasons as well.

Brendan Shanahan, who coach Tom Renney said was under the weather, was the only player not to skate.

More in a little while...

Brodeur needs to stop eating so many Devil Dogs.

fatty can have the vezina..while henrik can have the stanley cup :)

If Nabakov doesnt get the Vezina, the NHL awards are a fargin joke !

The NHL awards are a joke? And this is something new? Two years ago the xenophobic writers chose Thornton over Jagr for the Hart

I hear ya Eric. I thought it was bull that Jagr didnt win the Hart 2 years ago.

Look at this way though, i think if Jagr did win the Hart his contract would have kicked in automatically next year for 8.36 million and the Rangers would have been responsible for all of it.

Because he didn't win, we now have the opportunity to sign him this summer for a reasonable one year deal, which i believe will happen.

Dude - if his contract kicks in by winning Conn Smythe Wash is on hook for 1/2 just like they would have been if Jagr won the Hart a couple of yrs ago
