Saturday practice report

Staple here, checking in on Steve's behalf. He has to go to Buffalo in a couple days, so he needs some extra time to prepare.

Renney is going with the hot hands again for tomorrow, so no lineup changes, Lundqvist in net. Petr Prucha didn't do himself any favors by drilling Lundqvist in the face mask with a shot early in practice. Prucha, Ryan Hollweg and Jason Strudwick will sit. Everyone practiced today.

And be sure to check out my Nigel Dawes feature tomorrow. It was Steve's idea, so he deserves most of the credit.

Wow, an article in Newsday about the Rangers tomorrow? The stars must be aligned!

Referring to Islander505's comment -

You do realize this is a Rangers blog right? I mean Steve is supposed to be biased on this blog because we are here to hear his and voice our opinions on this team.

what is it about hockey blogs that just attracts the dregs of society?

Anyway, bad news is, all the teams we are chasing and the two right with us, Boston and Philly won today.

Good news is, Islanders, Washington and Buffalo all lost, so the closest team that could knock us out of a playoff spot is Buffalo, behind us by 5 points but we have a game in hand on them.

We also are only 4 points behind Ottawa and have 2 games in hand on them. Philly is one point behind us, we have a game in hand on them too.

It's nice that we finally have games in hand on teams when it was the opposite for so long.

This game vs the Bruins today could not be any bigger.

cookoo birds i tell ya!!...

buffalo got a point dude, which isnt awful. i watched that whole game, buffalo has not givin up by any means..unlike a certain team from uniondale, what a shame ;)

boston was very fortunate today. the refs totally handed that game to them. i know brashear had a meltdown, but there were 2 or 3 calls that needed to be explained. the worst part is that they have momentum against us today.

Jeez, I thought there were some real knuckle scrapers coming TO the game... Where on the Island did you find some of these winners, Zip? Open tryouts?
