Perhaps the Rangers will make some noise tonight at MSG against Tampa.
Imagine a three-goal outburst! OK, two.
No guarantees, though. Lecavalier and Prospal are off to very good starts and too many goaltenders have been channeling Patrick Roy against the Rangers. Tampa has 32 goals, twice as many as the Rangers in one less game, but is 0-3 on the road. All five wins have come in Florida.
Speaking of noise---if you haven't guessed---it appears that Chuck, Phill, Bob, Pete and Mike are one, multiple-personality, poster.
So if you're not into discussing hockey with Sybil, ignore him---although at least he or she, and others, have toned down the inappropriate language because Newsday's editors are stepping in to enforce the company's policies.
I don't expect many changes or revelations at the optional morning skate, but check back here just in case.
Unless someone caught the flu overnight, expect the same lineup.
As Scott Boras/ARod said to the Yankees: See ya!

What a joke that Hollweg is on the 3rd line. Could Renney look any more clueless???
yes, remember Betts on the 2nd line?
Great, so this will help keep Prucha pointless. Way to go Renny! Nothing like making the secondary goal scorers completely irrelevant to the opposition with the wonderful offensive talents of Ryan Hollweg! What’s next Strudwick on the first line? No, maybe Jagr and Betts! That would be sooooo cooool!
What team are you guys watching? What did Hollweg do wrong? Instead of thinking that Prucha will play down to Hollwegs level, why dont you consider that if Hollweg is put on a line with better players, maybe he will play up to their abilities?
I dunno.. Hollweg has look very good in the last few games. He has been hustling all over the ice end to end.. ala Avery. I'm not saying the guy is the next Jagr, but at least he has some hustle on an otherwise bland team effort thus far.
The point is, Hollweg is nothing more than a 4th liner. Hands of stone.
Hollweg is a 4th liner at best, no question about it. He does hustle and hit, but that is pretty much all he does.
Have to go with Mike G on this one. I agree and have said it all along that Hollweg is nothing more then a 4th line player. But, watching him the last few games on the 3rd he has shown alot of potential and has looked pretty good there. Again, he is not a sniper or a goal scorer but, in my opinion it works and I like what I have seen.
I was simply commenting on Hollweg’s offensive talents. Not his hustle or checking. It’s nice to believe in Hollweg’s potential. It’s denial to believe Prucha doesn’t have to “play down” for Hollweg offensively. I could think of a certain first line winger that really doesn’t deserve to be were he is that would make a much better partner for Prucha than he would for Jagr.
Oh, well. We’re stuck with this for now, and there’s nothing anyone here can do about it.
Shanahan is asking us to have faith. While he doesn't even have faith in his own skill and body as you can see from his 10 game 2 million bonus instead of a bomus for scoring 30-40 goals ad 60+ points. Why should we have faith, when he doesn't even have it.
And sorry, Shanny, but I don't buy your reasons for wanting to play for the Rangers. You either came for the money or because nobody else or almost nobody else wanted you. I wish you never came here.
This team blows. Avery is really good in commercials though!
The Rangers have 11 games in November. Considering the opposition and the way they've been playing, I can see them winning maybe four of them. It's fine for Renney to get everyone thinking back to last season's playoff run, but what was all of that militaristic coming-together-in-support-of-each-other in training camp supposed to be about? Tom Renney's act has gotten old and stale, and Sather is proving himself to be just as bad by doing nothing about it.
Does Renney talk in practice about crashing the net at all? The Rangers take 30-some-odd shots a night, but most come from wide angles because the opposition forces them to the outside and they just take a weak, off-angle shot that's easily blocked and the rebound cleared.
So Toskala, DP, etc, never have to work too hard. Dawes took two of the same shots the other night (especially the last goal) and happened to score on them.
Do they try to work thru this at practice?
