Martin, 26, a restricted free agent, was one of the team's most solid defenseman, so this multi-year pact isn't a surprise.
He earned $2 million last season, while scoring three goals and 23 assists in 82 regular-season games. But the numbers don't tell the entire story. Many teams inquired about him last year.
