After missing 15 games from a concussion suffered against the Flyers, Rangers winger Brendan Shanahan said after practice today that he would return against Philadelphia tomorrow night at Madison Square Garden.
"I can't do any more than I've done in practice," said Shanahan. "I've got the approval of the coaches and medical staff and I'm ready to go. I won't play the role I had when I left the lineup, at least not immediately."
On Feb. 17, he and Mike Kruble accidentally crashed into each other in a collision that left unconscious for several moments and Knuble with broken facial bones. As Shanahan was wheeled off on a stretcher, fans chanted, "Shanny, Shanny".
This morning, Shanahan said: "That's what woke me up, that's what brought me out of it. So I'm excited to be coming back at home. It'll be right up there with one of the more emotional nights of my career,"

I hope Shanny replacing someone like Orr or Isbister... leave callahan and dubinsky alone... let them play!
I agree. Isbister and Orr are my two choices to scratch as well. Holy crap, I hope Shanny plays well and gets back to his old self soon. YES!

According to today's Page Six, Shanny is indeed feeling better....
I think they need Orr against Philly . That last game the Flyers ran over the Rangers every which way. Philly will treat the game like their playoffs.
Shanny should play with Jagr & Nylander
My guess is that I will either be on a line with Jags and Mike scratching Izzy or play with Cullen and Avery. Looks like the scratches will be between Hollweg and Izzy. Dubie will be out if Marty comes back in to the lineup.

The games from here on in could be very rough so Orr is not a luxury. The fact that Renney had him out there on several shifts against the Crosby line shows that the coach has confidence in him, so why shouldn't we?

My guess is Isbister/Hollweg/Callahan will be scratched for Shanny and Dubinsky scratched if Straka comes back!
