Watch out for that first step

Was it just a month ago when the Islanders were coming off a stirring shootout win at Madison Square Garden and sitting three points out of a playoff spot as they prepared to face the Rangers again at the Coliseum? WFAN Radio’s “Mike and the Mad Dog” show was on location that night, and Islanders coach Ted Nolan provided them with a bit of controversy by starting Wade Dubielewicz in goal ahead of Rick DiPietro.

That game was the start of a six-game losing streak that ended the Isles’ playoff hopes. Looking back now at their long list of injuries, it’s amazing the Islanders remained in contention as long as they did. Their roster tonight has six players on it who have played seven games or less for the Islanders this season, including Colorado College star defenseman Jack Hillen, who is making his NHL debut.

Trying to brighten coach Ted Nolan’s day, my first question to him this morning went like this: “Are you worried about putting a college kid on the top pairing?” Against another opponent, that might have gotten a laugh. But this is a Rangers game, and he didn’t betray even the hint of a smile. Hillen obviously is a sharp young man with apparent talent, but it’s no easy task to step out on the ice with new partner Radek Martinek to face, say, Scott Gomez's line, not to mention Chris Drury's line or Jaromir Jagr's line.

“Yeah, a little bit,” Nolan admitted, “but we’ll try to monitor his ice and the people he plays against. But our numbers are what they are. The kid has pretty good offensive skill, so, hopefully, he knows how to get out of the way when the big boys are coming down on him. We’ll monitor him as well as we can.”

Hillen, who will wear No. 38, is replacing Matthew Spiller, who was replacing Brendan Witt, who might have been the Islanders’ most valuable player before his season was ended by a sprained knee. So, yeah, injuries can have a pretty dramatic effect on a team. Hiller will be the 12th defenseman this season to play for the Isles thanks to all the injuries.

To his credit, he seems to be a mature player with the requisite confidence to handle the task in front of him. Hillen played against Isles rookie Kyle Okposo in college, and the Minnesota natives have hung out together the past couple of days. Okposo, who made his NHL debut seven games ago, told Hillen about his jitters, but he has settled down and played well since that first game.

“I’m just excited,” Hillen said this morning. “I’m not really that nervous. I’m a little nervous, but it’s more excitement. I’ll try not to make it that big of a deal, just enjoy it. Really focus on the game, but also take in a little bit of the surroundings because this only happens once, playing your first NHL game.

“The thing I keep thinking about is that a lot of players I’ve played against are doing well in the NHL. So, I know I can play up here. You just have to have confidence in your ability no matter where you’re playing.”

As the top-scoring defenseman in NCAA Division I hockey this season with 37 points in 41 games, Hillen’s natural role in the future will be to quarterback the power play. Nolan plans to give him a taste tonight.

“Yeah, we’re going to give him a chance on the power play,” the coach said. “We’re giving all kinds of guys chances on the power play right now. He won’t be any different.”

After his first practice on Wednesday, Hillen mentioned that Rangers great Brian Leetch had been a role model when he grew up, so, MSG Network's crew quite naturally asked him to repeat that story this morning. He obliged and even expanded upon it.

Anticipating the possible negative reaction of Islanders fans, Hillen said, “You probably aren’t going to like this, but I was a big Brian Leetch fan. I liked his style. I also really liked watching Sergei Zubov, just those puck-moving type of defensemen.”

Of course, Hillen is too young to have seen Denis Potvin. Having covered the two players Hillen mentioned on the Rangers beat for Newsday when Zubov was a rookie and they finished last in the Atlantic Division before winning the Stanley Cup the next season, I was interested in how Hillen might have tried to pattern his game after Leetch and Zubov. He said he loves to make the long breakout pass that was Zubov’s specialty, but Hillen said it’s easier to do on the Olympic-size rink he played on at Colorado College and he’ll be more cautious on smaller NHL sheets of ice.

When asked if he likes to carry the puck on the rush the way Leetch did, Hillen said, “I did that a lot in college. I don’t know if I’ll be able to do that up here so much, but if there’s an opportunity to move the puck and everyone else is covered, I’ll certainly try to move my feet and skate it out of trouble and try to hop up in the play. If it’s there, I’ll do it, but I’m not expecting it to be open that much.”

Don’t expect too much right away from Hillen, who is jumping into the fire with both feet tonight at the Coliseum and tomorrow night at the Garden. But a puck-moving defenseman who goes forward instead of constantly passing backwards in his own zone and who finds the forwards with tape-to-tape passes in the offensive zone is exactly what the Islanders need. He’ll get his feet wet the next couple of games, and if he develops into the power-play quarterback and offensive triggerman the Islanders need, it won’t matter where his role models came from.

Oh Gawd,,,, I better get my Steady Deflector Shields up.

THANKS LOGAN!!
You couldn't have worded that statement in some kind of undecipherable Calculus equation now could ya!!!
RUIN MY DAY

SAM ROSEN....ATTENTION SAM ROSEN...WILL THE REAL SAM ROSEN PLEASE STAND UP!!!!! AFter reading your post, you complete IMBECILE....., "Sean Avery and the Rangers have bigger fish to fry folks, and they are not wasting their time with you goldfish".....we are the biggest fish you are facing you SCHMeCK!!!! weve OWNED you guys for the last few season you Dingleberry...We may not have a post season already, BUT NEITHER DO YOU!!!! so how can you even think that this HOME AND HOME is not important to you????? WAKE UP KNUCKLE HEAD!!! Hellow MCFLY is anybody HOME, THINK MCFLY THINK!!!!! It amazes me how much trash these TROLLS talk, i mean havent you even heard of proof-reading, not only for typographical error(which i can deal with), but to see what your writing makes any sense...you are a complete DISGRACE to Ranger fans!!!! PLEASE go into the bathroom, stick your head in the toliet and continually flush it, until you can comprehend how BIG these next 2 games are.....JESUS MARY AND KEVIN....the people who say they are HOCKEY fans...IT amazes me!!!!

Gotta admit, I am more than willing to lose out on the chance at the #1 if the Isles have a hand in causing the Rags over-hyped season to tank. We really need OTT, WAS, BOS, and PHI to step it up these next couple of games and do their part to wipe the Rags off the playoff map!

It's gonna be tough with their one game in hand, but man, that would just be too classic..

"Was it just a month ago when the Islanders were coming off a stirring shootout win at Madison Square Garden and sitting three points out of a playoff spot.......That game was the start of a six-game losing streak that ended the Isles’ playoff hopes."

GEEZUS LOGAN...
"Nice" intro to a piece on Hillen and our FUTURE!!!

Didn't you get the memo from Steady earlier today about
"HISTORY LESSONS" on this board?
Thanks for bringing up a lowlight in my season's history....fly 3 million miles to see the Isles lose.....to the RANGERS of all teams....start of a 6 game losing streak....MULTIPLE INJURIES....
knocked out of the playoff hunt....suffer the wrath of Steady for supporting Dubie over DP in that game....
Let me guess....
Tomorrow I'll get a knock on the door from a representative of the CDC telling me that the pre-game pizza I had at Borrelli's was infected with a late blooming incurable staph disease and that I am recipient NUMBER 3 and I don't even have enough time to go get drunk.

God I hate reporters.

You know a team has a terrible future when all they can do is hype is Blake Comeau, LOL. I mean are we supposed to be impressed with a player who is backing his 3 goals, 9 points in 25 AHL games with 8 goals and 14 points in 49 games at the NHL level??

Put Comeau in a stronger organization, and he wouldn't get a stiff of NHL action.

Well ... it seems this board has been hopping the last 48 hours ... lots of Rot spilling out of some Raggie Fannies mouths .. or finger tips ....

Well ... at least we know their are objective Ranger fans like Dude, Busey, MM and Mookie out there .... sure .. they still have a good natured jab at our expense ... but they at least back it up..... I never ask for a Ranger fan to like our players or team for that matter .. just ask for objective honesty .....

Well ... I'm getting ready to play in my final playoff game for the season .... both teams have one loss in this double elimination playoff round ... so it's winner take all tonight .... just wanted to check in with the board while I had a chance .... I'm tivo'ing the Isles game so I'll be behind in the analysis and results later.

WOW....
Just got a call from a buddy of mine working the Hummer Metrosexual Greeting line at NVMC....

Comrie and Duff's Hummer just arrived at the Red Carpet at the Marriott....
Not only was Tom Renney driving it........BUT....
Comrie, Duff AND Avery all stumbled out of the back of it.
Followed by a pug nose Pekingese with what appeared to be a hip injury; which upon questioning was described as simply a "Lower Body Injury".

I am NOT gonna go near that one.

The WANGER is on tv...

My God it is worse than I thought. Wang is by far the most clueless owner in hockey. You can tell He is in love with SNOW! You can also tell he is up in the air about Nolan. God help me !!!

Kip....Avery does not have his wubby tonight so have fun !!!

7 minutes til game time......

Let's go BOYS, kids, guys I'm don't recognize!!!!!
TAKE 2 TONIGHT!!!!

The Hummer Cup is within sight!!!!!

"Scorecard....Scorecard....Who needs a scorecard!!!!!!"

Steady,,,
You ARE scaring me.
I don't get all of the pre-game out here 2 time zones away.

Hmm... Better pick, or lose to Rangers.

Pick... or loss

Need high pick very badly.... Loathe Rangers incredibly much

Kids can learn either way

Looks like its seppuku for me. Enjoy the contest, fellas.

505...IF you heard and saw WANGER you would of thrown up....TRUST ME....He is beyond help! See if you can get the audio somewhere....Nolan will be going bye bye....I will also, please bail me out !!!

***So you Rag fans say Kyle stinks...Funny how your whole team is all over him...If he stunk, would AVON Avery be trying to get him off his game???

above was me!

NICE HIT HUNTER !!! Kyle is special boys....Beautiful feed by Comeau

KH and Nick...

Well everyone really. As I was stirring from my slumber (stupor?) on the LIRR on the commute home an old friend from school walked passed. He is currently employeed within the Nassau County beaurocracy and has direct dealings with the processes surrounding the Lighthouse.

A lot of what he told me about it we've already heard (such as the million and one road blocks in front of this thing to get done) but he did offer two tidbits which you may find interesting:

1.) The county is currently hiring a firm to research into adding a mass transit hub in the Uniondale area that would connect at Hempstead or Mineola. This research is one of the items they'd like to have complete before greenlighting the project

2.) $19 Million has been set aside for another firm to do environmental impact research and a time frame given of 5 years (which obviously conflicts with the Lighthouse Group's plan of breaking ground next year)

He seemd to know quite a bit about the situation, does the above gel with what you guys have been hearing about the project?

Go Isles!

Rangers should try out for the OLYMPICS. They are amazing divers! This is too funny.

Listening to this game on the radio, the Coliseum went absolutely beserk when the Rangers scored their first goal.

Easily a Ranger crowd tonight.

COBRA!!!

Sean Avery just made the Isles look like pansies in the 1st period. Which, they are.

HEY STEADY - U THINK WANG LOVES SNOW? DIDN'T WANG SAY HE WOULD TALK TO SNOW AND NOLAN ABOUT FREE AGENTS THIS SUMMER? WANG SAID IF SNOW AND NOLAN WANT A GUY HE'LL TRY AND GET HIM. IT SEEMS THAT NOLAN IS TO BLAME HERE.

STOP GETTING A BONER FOR NOLAN YOU LOUSMOUTH KNOW NOTHING

Healy, that's absolutely in line with what we're looking at. We also heard about the grant a few days ago, though as one person in our group put it, prevailing sentiment is that the people of Garden City would go to war and lay down their own lives before they allowed light rail to be built in their neighborhood.

We're researching both that and other options. In addition, we're trying to get in touch with the powers that be to add our voice to the debate.

Did your friend mention anything about his feelings on the overall state of the project, and the chances it has to be built?

Steady,

I saw it...First time I have seen (or bothered) to watch Wang speak publicly.
I am going to withhold my 1st OVERALL impression of him cuz 1st impressions are oftentimes inaccurate. (IE. I am not gonna characterize him as a Bobblehead or a genius).
With that said, what he said didn't bother me......"I'm not gonna discuss it, we still have another year on the contract".
HOW he said it???
Nuther story...
Body language, voice inflection, overall defensiveness were not assuring.
Simply not a classic "vote of confidence" for Nolan.
But then again, "votes of confidence' in the sporting world are right up there with "Hi, I'm from the IRS and I'm here to help you".

It's long a long off-season....
And gonna be a longer one if Jagr gets a hat trick tonight.

C'mon guys!!!!
Whoever you are.
Who the hell is this Keith guy?

Looks like this cobra guy is the ice worm sleeper cell leader.

fake Nolan.... I have FORGOTTEN more hockey than you will ever learn. Watch the interview again. You are way off !

Avery looked llike a three year old chassing around our kids. YES, he had some nice hits....Funny how he did not hit ANY of our 4th line players while they were on the ice....Typical wuss bag hitting guys new to the game!

GO GET EM KIP !!!

Let me get this straight.....Avery WEAR NAIL POLISH and goes FAKE TANNING ???? Oh and he backed down to Davison!

WHAT A WUSSSSSSSSSSSSS

@#$#@##$$
howie just called dubie. lundshit,,,,,,
please, please, send him back to the mets and lets use jiggs next year,
enough with this (former ranger fan) and his idiocies and retartedness

howie also say's "rangerjerks score" like five seconds after the horn,
where did we find this idiot,
he's the only one who thought it might be a goal, besides maybe traudwick

Does anyone here actually think a isles fan has ANYTHING on a Rags fan? They laugh at us...Avery is all over us. We are horrid. get real, zip it, save it for a day when we can compete.
Wang is a fool.
Nolan is all talk.
We are soft.
VH rocks.
Obama sucks.

I'm not really seeing a lot from a lot of these kids tonight. Colliton needs to understand that he's playing for a roster spot next season. This is make or break for his a$$.

Can't make a complete judgement off of one game but that guy is looking like a lifer AHLer.

Same can be said of Fata. I think if the Isles draft a few Dmen that guy is gonna be gone.

Next season looks like Okposo, Comeau and Bergenheim have earned spots. The more I watch these kids the more I wonder what they could do with a real center between them.

I mean a guy with real talent that can skate deceptivly, pass and finish plays. Hillien for his first game doesn't look bad but not great either. Obviously the change in speed along with the butterflys are effecting him.

Right now it's the vets that actually look worse than some of the nerve racked kids.

WHat a BORING GAME!!! Ever since the lockout the ISLANDER RANGER rivalry has gotten worse and worse....This game is horribly boring...No Big HITs no fights....NOTHING...what happened to the good old days w/ Vukota, Kasperitis, Pilon, Beukeboom, Kocur...the INTENSITY is completely MISSING!!!

I figure we are in a win win situation...IF we beat the rangers twice in regulation, we prolong there playoff clinch, and hopefully watch the devils beat them in a shootout....OR we LOSE both games and just gain a HIGHER chance of getting 1ST PICK!!!

cHARLES WANG.....this guy is, well not very hockey smart!!! ....its what makes a contract a contract,, theres always the last year in a contract, thats what makes it a contract....Listen WANG-CHUNG if you dont resign NOLAN you def are the worst NHL owner....NOLAN hasnt been given a chance to coach a worthy team....What are you gonna do, have DUBIE retire and have him COACH the team....Sometimes this team really makes me want to vomit on myself, run around my frontyard in the NUDE!!!!

Come on BOYS we cant let the RAGS clinch the playoffs in OUR house...Though my friend who is at the game tells me its like 80% RANGER fans...HOW PATHETIC.....WELL BACK TO THE GAME!!!

PS...im still waiting to hear back from SAM ROSEN!!!!

Cmon boys, let's clinch the playoffs on Mausoleum ice! Ranger fans take over the Mausoleum as usual. Steady is the biggest loser on this blog. What a fool! Enjoy the Rangers clinching tonight Steady boy!

SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!

Ranger fans chanting season's over! I love it!

Okay,
April Fool's day was yesterday.....

Who gave Hilbert's sticks to Bergenheom?

AWESOME FREDDIE!!!!!

Im Fred Myer, the Isles most physical player. And, Im gay.

Henrik! Henrik!

Do you think the Isles team could win in the minors?
They would get bullied by Hartford.

Fags

Fata-gay
Davidson---Ill let Steady fill it in

shutout baby!

There is nothing funnier than seeing AVON AVERYS

FAKE TAN and NAIL POLISH....What a LOSER !

**As of our Isles....The kid line looked very good again, especially in the first period. They need to toughen up a bit thoug. Not saying they need to fight, but bang around the opposition a little bit.

Difference between you and me troll is you write TO ME !! You get angry with ME....YOU ARE JEALOUS OF ME !!

No one writes to you ! No one cares about YOU !!!

p.s Not fat....Damn good looking though!

oh and I am a ORACLE !!!

Oracle? More like moron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And sure I will paly in golf...5 handicap ...Bring it TROLL BIATCH !

Use your real tag name TROLL WUSS BAG !! I OWN YOU !!

Stop writing to me Steady, you loser, I am not interested in losers like you and the Icelanders.

We own you, Steady!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Steady,
The ice worm is your old pal gary.
He just posted on Zip's board using his real handle.

Not interested in us....You are on an Isles blog in between pumping gas at Texaco? GET A LIFE LOSER !!!

I OWN YOU !!!! YOU WRITE TO ME SUCKAHHHHHH!

NICE TAN AVERY .... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Garys mom definitely got drilled in the rear by gillies to be so obsessed with the Islanders.

505...I will recap the game with you another day. Let the kids talk to themselves and show their IQ. Lot to talk about when it comes to Wang, the kids, and the off-season.

Have a good night. All posts after this will be my MANY fans :) :)

I'm a Ted Nolan type of player. A loser.

How old are all these Ranger fans on this board???

I thought they had their own board.

At the end of the day I gotta think that the Rangers are probably helping the Isles in the draft with this win just as the Isles are helping them by losing.

In the long run I think it makes life tougher for the Rangers. If I was a Rag fan the last thing I would want is to see the Isles get a high pick in this draft. I'd rather see them try to throw something together every summer off the UFA scrap heap.

That's not going to be the case this season. The Isles are going to grab an NHL ready pick in the top five. They even have a shot (a small one) at the #1 pick.

St Louis can help us improve our odds against lowly Columbus.

Tonight you can see what makes Okposo a dangerous guy around the net. Even better that he seems to click well with Comeau. We get a center in there with some talent and that has the makings of a dangerous line.

Tomorrow night may be the last night in a very long time the Ranger fans will get to celebrate a victory like this. I say enjoy it while it lasts.

When healthy, the Rangers and the rest of the east have a very hard time beating this team. After the draft it's only going to get harder.

These Islanders will actually have :Gulp: some talent to go along with the grit.

Ask Steady how old he is, that loser!

I think Blake Comeau is a very good player but I think he's holding to the puck too long. I see KO waiting for the pass and ready to shoot but doesn't get the puck all the time. What do you guys think???

Caesar, you are living in fantasy land. The Rangers are a YOUNG TEAM! Sorry to break the news to you

Comeau i think is still working on his timing. is nervous still, and just needs to either pass or shoot it. He's thinking too long. But he'll get over that with more confidence.

It's 10PM Steady mom is yelling from down stair for you to turn off the lights and go to bed. Big day tomorrow.

It's 10PM Steady mom is yelling from down stair for you to turn off the lights and go to bed. Big day tomorrow.

Its cool...the trolls can have their day... Hopefully the Isles put in a better showing tomorrow, and on draft day. The Rags should go and have a decent playoff, but it means nothing to us... I'm gonna go to their board and probably see not one of us acting like a 7 year old... that makes me feel good to be part of a more knowledgable fan base... but I would still like to be in the playoffs. Hopefully we can build on something this off season and really turn it around this year... oh and trolls.. you still don't have a winning season against the "Icies"..... suckas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With this loss we have the 5th spot in the draft. With Columbus and St.Louis playing twice, we could end up in 4th. Either way, good draft pick, healthy squad next year, maybe a good summer ....who knows..

I thought Comeau was the best player for the Islanders tonight, though that's really not saying much. Overall I thought it was an unacceptable performance. I hope Wang enjoyed this because its on him. He kept Milbury way to long, and then hired his backup goalie as gm. We have no shot with Garth Snow as GM.

The second JAgr leaves the Rangers they are toast. They have zero offense without him No one on that over priced healthy team scares me but him!

It's only Snows 2nd year as GM. Give him a little break.

The Rangers were the yonger team tonight

The younger team with Drury,Gomez,Straka,JAgr,Lundquist, and every single other healthy body.

Get clue anon. You played the Bridgeport Isles tonight.

Congrats and get a LIFE !

Everyone keeps talking about how young each team is....who cares?

who scored tonight? The Veterans did. Who are the difference makers.......same answer. You can have enough kids playing but if your veterans don't step up, or there is a lack of veterans playing, the team with the most experience will win those games.

The guys responsible for tonights win on the Rangers are all in their walk years. Jagr has an option which everyone is certain the Rangers are not picking up.

Dubinsky is not going to get the same points minus Jagr. Jagr will make a lot of people around him look good.

Straka is exhibit A.

Just back from the game ...

1) Ranger fans are the biggest p@ssies I've ever met. I've never met a bigger group of loud mouths that aren't willing to back up any of what they say in my entire life! I was there with 3 friends and the Rag fans in our section were running their mouths ...we kept harrassing them ...trying to get them to do something - anything - but much like Client #16 - they're all talk no action ...typical

2) Just saw the interview with Wang and Howie ...some interesting tidbits ...a) seems really confident about the Lighthouse - which is a huge plus clearly for all Islander fans (and really all fans of hockey everywhere) b) I didn't take his comments about Nolan too seriously - I mean what's he supposed to say "yes Howie, I will tell you right now that we're going to resign Nolan to a 3 year deal" ...he said what every owner in every sport would have said "it's an in house matter" and I think some people here Steady have such negatives for Wang that they might be looking for any reason to kill the guy ;-) ...and I hate to bring up something that's been trolled about here, but something that "nolan" posted above struck me as interesting - because I've been saying it for weeks - is that I found it interesting how Wang mentioned Nolan along with Snow in talking about opinions on potential UFA's to bring in ... I bring it up because if Nolan's part of the decision making process then he should be taking some of the heat as well ...

3) The Isles have at minimum "clinched" the 5th seed ...a chance to move to 4th if St. Louis does anything ...but it could increase the odds on Stamkos or atleast bring us Hodgson or Beach ...but we'll see on Monday night

AZS,

you actually wanted to fight people? over a hockey game?

get a life loser

The "get a life loser" comments is particularly ironic considering that you post on an Islander message board all day/night under several names trying to get people you don't know or will ever meet to aknowledge you but you wouldn't have the marbles to do it to their faces ....

yeah, you're right ...I'm the loser ...

505, 19 Isles, AZS...........Do you guys or any other Isles fan here ever go onto Rangers websites and post moronic ramblings about the Rangers owner, GM, Coach or Players?

I know that I have never even logged onto a Ranger site. Why would I want to read about a team that I don't root for? It seems a bit like the school bully puffing out his chest when he beats up on a smaller child. This team that the Rangers beat tonight is not the same team they could not best the first 3 games of the season.

So big deal, you beat a bunch of AHL players. A win is a win, but
crowing about it like you just won the Cup is a tad bit overboard.

I enjoy it when the Isles beat the Rangers, but I don't rush onto some Ranger site to brag about it. Get over yourselves. You can win the most insignificant challenge in sports, the Hummer Challenge. Who cares? Let's see if you can beat the Devils in the first round. Then you will have something to say.

Until then stay on your own sites and congratulations on sneaking into the playoffs. Enjoy the Hummer......Sir William

I'd like to interject here if I may.

AZS if you're lookin to start fights at a sporting event you need some perspective in life. You're not only an embarrassment to yourself but Islanders fans that have to sit with you.

To some of the Ranger's fans gloating tonight. CAN IT!!!!

There are some wins worth bragging about in this rivalry. Tonight was not one of them. If it were an Icelander team featuring Witt, Sutton, Campolli and Comrie etc I could see it. You only make yourselves look like inexperienced troglodyte boasting over this one.

That was the AHL Islanders we just beat. A team we'd be very lucky to get those three goals if they were healthy and playing 100%. Can't really get to crazy over beating an already beaten down rival.

Walk away and act like you've been there before. I'm very happy to rub it in when my rival is at a place where they are worthy.

To the Islanders fans (The one not acting like gorrilla chest idiots looking for fights) you have a very nice future ahead of you. Okposo looks like a very good prospect and will add much to this rivalry. Comeau and Bergenheim look pretty good as well.

After tomorrow we'll see you next season (After we hang another cup banner!!!)

1st off ...I wasn't trying to "start" a fight ...the Ranger fans in my section were talking to tough to everyone around them for the entire game ...then when some people actually stood up to them and called them out they sat back down like the typical loud mouth ranger fans that they were ...say what you will, but I have more respect for someone that's not afraid to step to someone like a man then I do for the ranjerk trolls who waste their time posting on an Islander message board

AZS So I can take that as an agreement with me? LOL Sir William

that would be fair to say ;-)

Ah, finally, after midnight on the East Coast....
The ice troll's tampons finally turned into pumpkins.

Sir William....

"Do you guys or any other Isles fan here ever go onto Rangers websites and post moronic ramblings about the Rangers owner, GM, Coach or Players?"

Yes, I do POST on Zip's blog on occasion.
Whether or not they are "moronic ramblings" is a subjective conclusion to be determined by the person reading them. My posts...ALL SIGNED BY ME with my legit handle of Islander505... are MEANT to be non-inflammatory....call them observations/social commentary that can be directed at ANY Ranger subject with a touch of pithy humor thrown in.
If those are moronic ramblings then I am guilty as charged.
But generally, what I post over there is met with respect and laughter (I hope) by the legitimate posters over there.
Hell, I even got acknowledged in one of Zip's blogs once.
All part of my mantra about the 11th Commandment.

Just know that our blog here is not unique in attracting the idiocy that you saw tonight. Indeed, if you go over and read Zip's blog tonight there was an ALMOST equal amount of garbage being posted there about the Rangers.
Usually it's one person, and you can usually see a timing pattern on each board...simply a sick mind getting their unique jollies on both boards.
But on game nights like this......more of the ice worms surface on both boards. Like a whining dog, it's simply best to wait until they exhaust themselves and go back to sleep. ( I know...easier said than done).

On to tomorrow night.....the Hummer Ice Challenge is NOT OVER.

But that was a pretty poor performance by our strangers against the rangers tonight.
Can ya get us a decent game tomorrow night Teddy?
