Reporters covering the Islanders’ deadline day activity were enjoying lunch when the club announced its only trade of the day, a seventh round pick in this summer’s draft in exchange for San Jose defenseman Rob Davison. No one called their newspapers to ask for re-write.
But Dave Caldwell of the New York Times did pause long enough to make a wry observation about the new depth defenseman Davison. “No ‘d,’” Caldwell said.
Davison is a tough 6-3, 220 pounder who has no points in 15 games for the Sharks this season.

I like the Davison move. the whole organization is lacking defensive depth. He should also be a fixture on the Bridgeport Shuttle this year and next... He also makes somebody like Berard, MAB or Gervais ependable if the right deal should come up.
I think Satan bought a house on Long Island with the hopes that he woudl get an extension. He seemed to be perfectly happy commuting to Buffalo when little Miro was born, and I have a feeling that he may be dangling for good value, but if something extraordinary doesn't come up he'll get a 2 year extension... pretty much sealing the fate of Ruslan.
He might be the LAST MINUTE guy... they need Ice time for Comeau, Bergy and eventually Okposo...

I don't know much about the D-man they picked up from San Jose but he is a big guy and that may be more of a fill in player until Sutton returns.

Bottom line, it is what it is...let's not forget the run this team just had...another is definitely possible. If Tank starts crashing the net regularly,,,he'll be a huge asset. Tonight is key, Hossa won't be there...but a key turnaround game.
The best was Mike and Chris coming down from Montreal to LI for Tank and Miro...yeah right. But wouldn't that have been huge. I like Tank and I'm glad he's still here.
