Next stop for Kyle Okposo: Bridgeport

Just got the word from Islanders general manager Garth Snow. After helping Team USA to a fourth-place finish at the World Junior championships in Czech Republic, top Islanders prospect Kyle Okposo will join their Bridgeport farm club next week.

Okposo returns with Team USA on Sunday and will get four days off to recover from the tournament. He’s expected to practice with the Sound Tigers on Thursday, and he might play his first game Friday night in Binghamton. Fans living on Long Island might want to wait until the weekend when they can hop the Port Jeffferson-Bridgeport Ferry to see Okposo and the Sound Tigers against Springfield on Saturday night or against Binghamton on Sunday.

With a laugh, Snow said, “We thought we’d make his introduction to pro hockey three games in three nights.”

Okposo finished with a goal and five assists as Team USA went 4-2. He assisted on a goal by Islanders prospect Rhett Rakhshani in a 4-2 loss to Russia in the bronze medal game.

If Okposo plays nine games or less with the Islanders this season, his three-year deal worth $2.55 million won’t actually begin until next season. But Snow only would not commit to Okposo making his NHL debut sometime this season, only saying, “It’s a possibility.”

Kyle should get acclimated to pro hockey before even thinking of playing NHL ... I'm sure he'll get a handful of games with the Isles this season depending on the needs of the Isles ... and if he's ready.

I'm sorry ... but I just like the way Jigs calls the game over Howie. Maybe it's psychological from the dynasty years when he called the game for the Isles.

PLEASE....PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ...........

NEVER argue again about MAB. He is the most pathetic defensive player I have ever seen at the NHL level. I have counted 9 bad plays in the first two periods alone. He has made horrendous passes, he got yelled at by Sillinger, he is LOST on the ice with Campoli, and he is out of position on EVERY SHIFT!

Those with HDTV DIRECTV are getting the Avs feed. They are laughing at his play!

I do not care if he scrores 2 goals in the third period, BENCH HIM !!!!

***DP is beyond good! ****

good call steady.... the announcers on HDNET also commented on how many "bonehead" plays he's made. Had to switch to the non-HD feed just for jiggs. I may not be old enough to have remembered the dynasty years....but he definetly brings back memories... Here's to you Jiggs( as I hold up my drink)

I think this is a very smart idea. The Soundtigers have actually been playing well as of late (although they did lose tonight). I'm curious who he'll play with. There's no reason to rush him up to the NHL right away. If he shows he's ready while in the AHL then that's one thing. But, these are the Islanders. This is the type of franchise that's too scared to turn the team over to the youth. What other reason could Tambellini (who scored his 21st goal tonight) be rotting in the AHL while guys like Park, Hunter, Sillinger and Fedetenko get primo minutes yet don't deserve it.

I'm not saying Park shouldn't be playing, and I don't hate any of the players mentioned, but why should any of them recieve the top line minutes they get? Park, ok, he's played well so you can understand it somewhat, but can anyone really say Sillinger, Hunter, or Tank have produced offensively at all?

The last I checked the Isles are the last, or 2nd to last in goal scoring. And, again, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the idea to score more goals than your opponent?

I'm sorry because I know that lately I've been consistantly ranting about the same topic here but I just feel so passionately that the Isles are hurting themselves in the long run by not giving younger guys more minutes now. I don't mean give it to young guys that don't deserve it, but Tambellini has earned it more than many of the wingers on the team right now ....

Greg, can you please ask Snow or Nolan why it is that certain guys - some of whom are on 1 year deals or will be UFAs - are just thrown out there game after game when younger guys get garbage time or rot in the AHL ...why is it that we have to be a "lunch pail" type of team instead of the quick young new NHL type of team? The Avs and young teams like them seem to be skating so fast while the Isles seem to be skating with cement in their skates ...but hey, we've got grit, character, and heart ...sadly not a lot of skill besides the goalie and a few others ...

Ok, thanks, I feel better now ...kinda ;-/

Had no idea about jiggs....I'm switching over! Where's Eddie, too bombed to talk? LOL Ohhhhhhhhhhh the memories!

DP is putting on a show. Amazing the difference in style of play. Isles look like they are playing with weights on their ankles. MAB has weights AND cement shoes....AND cement HEAD!

Enjoy the third!

Just got off the phone with my brother ... and we were talking about some of the calls Jiggs has made doing Islander games back in the day.... and my brother said ... it all most feels the same ... except I find myself counting bone head moves by MAB just like we used to count out of state plates on the interstate during long trips ... you just know you are going to see one any second. I fell over.... signing off now ... going to watch the last 7 minutes of this game.

Let´s go MAB hahaha!

good thing DP earned us another win. Figures that a sh!t fluke goal at the end of the second cost us the other point

Some stats that say it all ...

Tank - 1g in his last 21 games
Hunter - 2g in his last 28 games
Sillinger - 1g in his last 10 games
JoVas - 2g in his last 23 games
Satan - 3g in his last 17 games

Really look at those numbers. Let it sink in. It's really amazing because most of these guys get a ton of ice time. Sillinger, Satan, and Hunter see PP time. Hunter, Sillinger, and Satan get almost 20 minutes on the ice every game. Tank and JoVas get plenty as well.

Clearly more could be said ...but really think about those stats and think about whether we have the right guys up with the big club or whether the right guys are being used in the right situation. There were more guys who have stats like those but those are the main culprits.

We're not getting scoring from the D ...we're not getting scoring from a large majority of the O ...

What's the long term plan here? I would love Snow to address this in some forum. I could deal with this pathetic squad if I knew what his plan long term was. Honestly, they're just not fun to watch. Other than DP there's not that one "special" player on the team that makes you think I better not go to the bathroom because I don't want to miss something ...and sports is about winning, but its also about fun ...where's the fun with this team?

I may mess this up because 19nj22's calculator night hasn't happened yet, but those players mentioned above have scored a collective 9g in 99 games ...not gonna cut it ...

Head up AZS....Sound like me last year. I agree though. We have both said it a million times....WHAT IS THE DIRECTION of this team ?????????

I think the team has been easier to watch since the couple of call ups. Once KO is ready, he will be called up. As much as we all want to see him here, you cannot kill the kids confidence. By years end we shall know the direction. This is a business. The BOBBLEHEADS are not going to just come out and admit we are rebuilding and lose out on even more ticket sales.

MAB is the worse than Gordie Lane.....YES....Gordie Lane! I posted during the game.....I watched the game with some B's fans and even they said it was one of the most comical performances by and NHL player. Was he drunk ??? I'm serious. How can a palyer be that bad on most nights?

When is Martinek coming back?

As Stan Fischler said last night; "Tambellini has had chances and didn't take advantage of them".

In his last recall he was invisible on the ice except for the first game he played in. Success in the AHL will earn him another chance but unless you contribute in some way shape or form your going back to the AHL.

I think the Okposo contract puts the Isles in a potentially sticky situation. If they bomb out the rest of the way and become sellers at the deadline then it would make sense to play Okposo to get him some NHL experience. However why would you want to deduct a year off of his contract for a lost cause. To see Okposo stick in the NHL if he gets a call up then the Isles would have to be in the thick of the playoff race.

As I said in a post yesterday; DP has shown he can bounce back from a poor performance. It seems to confirm the sub par performance against the Panthers was rust. I find it hard to ever be critical of a guy like DP who always plays with heart and is the savior of this franchise right now. What a game!!!!! On a road trip like this you will need your golie to be at his best and steal a game like last night (got 1 point). Now lets beat the Oilers, it;s the one team on this trip that we are better than.

Coral Springs,

I totally hear what you're saying. And I don't think Tambellini was amazing this year while up here but he only recieved an average of 9:37 of ice time. In all fairness that's not really a lot of time to show anything at all. The players I mentioned above recieve more than double his ice time and have showed next to nothing offensively. I do agree that AHL success doesn't mean that it will translate to NHL success. I guess where I'm coming from is that at what point to you either just give the kid a real chance - with real linemates - getting real ice time or just package him in a deal and watch him succedd else where?

And Steady, I do agree about the "head up" part ...not trying to be negative ...when I'm watching them I'm hoping they'll all do well - even the players I don't agree should be on the team - but I agree with some of the things you were saying last year ...I don't want to just blindly accept what they put infront of me ...I spend enough money on this team each year ...I spend enough hours being emotionally invested in this franchise that I feel like I've earned - along with all of you - the right to question things. You've helped me see the light ;-)

I hear yah AZS....As a season ticket holder YOU and MERRICK and whoever else gets to say WHAT EVER YOU WANT! You have earned that!

AZS ... Great calcualtions there .. LOL!! I'm not a season ticket holder .. but next season when they hold that "town hall meeting" for season ticket holders to attend ... bring up the calculators to Wang / Snow. They might throw a curve ball and want to do something totally revolutionary instead .. and give away scientific calculators or abacuses (sp) .. LOL!!

Anyway ... that bathroom comment hit the mark .... I'm just not afraid to run to the kitchen or bathroom ... or answer the phone. Tivo helps if something does happen to go back and look.

I knew it at the end of the 2nd period that letting Colorado back into the game was an inevitable death knell. DP stood on his head ALL night... he kept the game from being 5-1. We should be happy with the 1 point. EVERYONE infront of him was still at dinner at Smyth's home (apparently a group of Isles had dinner at his house on Fri. night).

Steady's favorite whipping boy is MAB ... and as bad as he has been ... even with his re-discovered shot .. he's hurting the team .... but he's just a part of the problem. The Isles offense is the biggest problem ... and offense starts in the defensive zone. If you can't get out of your zone effectively ... you can forget about offense.

If you watch the team ... they scramble at times .. (many times last night) ... in the defensive zone ... they don't come out of the zone cleanly and this gives the opposition time to set up their defense .. and force the Isles to dump and chase .. or keep the Isles to the outside ...

When the Isles attempt centering passes .. the back checker is right there to force the receiver off the puck .. or break up the pass .. allowing their defenseman to control the puck and move it back up ice.

While back in the defensive zone .. the Isles are chasing the puck .. they are not able to score obviously ... so to me ... their offensive woes begin in their own zone ... more time in the defensive zone ... and killing penalties ... less time to mount an attack.

BTW .. it's much more exhausting to play defense than offense. When you are constantly chasing and defending .. you are wearing down your troops.

I can go on... but I think we need to think from the goal line out. As much as we have criticism for the team ... they are just as aware what is wrong as we are ... they have been around the game's best much more than I have or anyone else here I'm sure ... so as AZS said ... What's the plan?

Are they hoping to be just good enough to make the playoffs and hope for upsets? That hasn't worked for them yet.

Well, as bad as DP looked against Florida, he was stellar last night. Sometimes you need your goalie to steal you a point when the team doesn't show up. That happened last year...Toronto and NYR come to mind. I feel like two weeks ago, we'd have lost last night's game 6-1.

I don't know if it's fair to take things that happened last night and make judgments on the team as a whole. I thought the Isles looked horrible last night. No one checked - it looked like a roller hockey game. They didn't shoot, the D wasn't getting involved the way they had been, and it just looked like they did absolutely no scouting on the Avs. They got taken completely off of their game, but still managed a point. Let's see what they bring to Edmonton.

Anybody read the NY Post Larry Brooks article. I do not know what he has against the Islander organization but his reporting of Islanders is clearly biased. If he would have taken just a few minutes to research the Islanders blog by Greg Logan he would not look like a complete fool. Good source you have Brooks, maybe you should stop utilizing this so called source and take a few minutes and read Logan's blog's which generally have up to date information on the going's on of the Islanders.

How much longer do we have to endure the agony of MAB????? I don't care if he scores the odd PP goal or not; the fact remains ( as I've said since he arrived) that the Mad Bomber is a definite minus to the team. The very day of the trade I reminded Islander fans just how bad he was in edmonton and how happy they were to rid themselves of his selfish attitude. Please do not try and tell me he's apositive to the PP because it's simply a 4 on 4 situation with his decision making. The regulars on this blog are having to walk a fine line between remaining generally faithful to Ted and Garth about their decisions. In this case, they have to sit/move MAB sooner than later for us to retain any semblence of belief in them.

MAB is far from the problem on the Isles. The Isles simply don't have the offensive prowess to compete with other NHL teams. AZS's stats above clearly depict a team lacking legitimate goal scorers. This team figured Hunter would be good for 25 to 30 goals, but it's looking like he won't come close to half that amount. We also hoped Satan, in his walk year, would produce close to 30 goals but that's looking quite unrealistic as well.

Silinger is awful. He is at best a 4th line center, yet he receives more PP time than some of the best forwards in the NHL. What a joke.

Everyone here can jump on Nolan's bandwagon and turn MAB into some kind of a scapegoat. But the truth is MAB is only a -4, which is the same as Brendan Witt, while MAB leads the team in power play goals (even though he has been benched for 15 games). In addition, on a team that constantly sets itself up to lose by taking too many penalties, MAB has racked up 2 penalty minutes so far this season. That's one minor penalty thus far.

Blake Comeau leads the team in +/- in limited ice time. Let this guy play.

Did you seriously just try and compare MAB to Brendon Witt??? How about looking at the amt of playing time while comparing +/- ?? The two players should never be mentioned in the same sentence.

Anyone who truly know the sport can see MAB is lost on the ice. Three out of four games he hurts the team rather than helps them. He is a cancer in the clubhouse as well as on the ice. Witt is the heart and soul of this team (DP not included.) The team has many many holes. MAB is talked about b/c he is here and being played. We cannot control what we do not have.

Obviously this team is in some serious need of offense. My three year old asks me why we do not score nightly. Yet until we make a trade or have a strong draft, that 40 goal scorer is not coming to Long Island. No one to blame for that except the BOBBLEHEADS!!!!!

A great hockey mind once said: " You show me a team constantly out of the playoffs, and I will show you a team with poor upper mgmt!"

Gordie Lane or MAB......that's a toss up

Tamby should come up and play 1st line.....he can finish.
Park is NOT a 1st line player. He has heart, but that doesn't put the puck in the net.

I'd also like to see Comeau on the 2nd PP unit over Silly. Silly can't hit the side of a barn....it's getting really old.

Like someone said before......it's getting harder and harder to remain faithfull to SNOLAN unless something changes.

U can only beat a dead horse so much..........

Monster:

Gordie get the nod for three reasons:

1) His name
2) He did not wear a helmet
3) He got rings and was liked on his team.

With that said, he stunk also! :) :) :)

Steady .... also add ...

4) He put forth effort
5) Other Isles D so good ... he stuck out like a sore thumb.

Still ... I'm not ready to blame MAB for the Isles problems .... he is just not the effective PP play maker the Isles need .... and yes .. he makes bone head plays. I can say the same thing about half the team. MAB should be traded between now and the deadline... I think he just doesn't fit the mold.

I'm more interested in getting the Isles some scoring ... the fact that the Isles only scored 1 goal ... isn't MAB's fault alone.

I think we are just going to get frustrated if we expect MAB to carry the Isles blue line ... and for the Isles to turn in 3 goal 4 goal games on a consistent basis. I think we just have to let this season play out and hope the Bobbleheads make the right decisions.

Let's get two in Edmonton.... and I'm not talking about goals.

Lane was a bum, as is MAB. Unfortunately, no team in there right mind would take MAB for a bag of pucks let alone a deccent player. Freddy IV is playing a lot better than MAB in much less icetime. MAB's 2 pp goals last week were ok......the first 1 was dead center in the net and he was lucky the goalie was out of position. His second was a good goal that went topshelf. He has a good game and his confidence is high then he goes out and has a performance like last night where he didn't take the shot on numerous pp's, including the 4 on 3 in OT.

Gordie is a great name though!!!! :)

I see you still haven't lost your ability to distort others' comments. MAB's value to the Isles obviously does not compare to Witt's. Thanks for the rocket science there.

My point is simple. MAB is far from the main problem. Snolan needs to rid himself of Silinger and get the younger players more ice time.

When I consider all the evidence, I think MAB is THE main problem with these Islanders and the players we currently have available. Yes, we all obviously agree we need more scoring but it isn't here yet. MAB is without competition when it comes to what ails the team. The forwards are generally under performing when it comes to expected point production but the intangible of being a square peg in a round hole again sits with the Mad Bomber. Hunter and Miro are way off expected point production but they aren't the self indulgent, arrogant players Bergeron is.
In yesterday's Toronto Star they wrote an article on how Philly basically over hauled their team inside of one year. They off loaded their aging players like Forsberg & Zhitnik, made a few key trades for guys like Lupul & Smith and drafted wisely for players like Richards. Even without fairly instant results like Philly got, the Toronto papers are rightfully saying it's past due date for trading a guy like Mats Sundin. Even though we don't have a veteran of Sundin's calibre on the Island, we MUST begin off loading these past prime players NOW. Guys like Sillinger and Satan should be moved for picks while we allow guys like Comeau to soak up lots of ice time. If Tambellini isn't going to get an extended look then let's move him too. His stats in the AHL indicate a potential some team will be willing to take a real chance on where as we're content to let who score????? This team isn't being sized for Stanley Cup rings this year so let's get serious.

Now that the holiday season is officially over, I'm back to the old handle. Miggs, I've agonized about this for quite some time now, and I'm finally starting to come around to your line of thinking. Let's face it, you only hear the term "chemistry" used to describe a team that is under-talented and over-achieving. I'm sure all the Philly fans are looking back and saying last year was worth it because it set the stage for the success this year. Even moreso with the drafting, let's remember they came out of that terrible season owning the rights to James van Riemsdyk, who is a phenomenal player and will help them for many years to come. Especially after watching the World Juniors, I wouldn't mind a lottery pick for the Islanders to get their hands on one of those guys. As far as I'm concerned, trade any of the vets except for Witt and Guerin (he's been a very good captain, unless you get a REALLY nice package for him), and then this will provide us with both a greater stable of young players and cap flexibility to better address the team's needs.

The game against the Avs was pretty bad, but before we trade the house, it could have been a totally different game if it wasn't for all the early penalties that killed our momentum (we did control the first 5 minutes or so until the parade to the box started). For that matter, if you only get 3 chances on the PP in a night, you got to score on one - difference in the game right there!

I agree we obviously need some scoring help, but like I've been told many times on this very blog, where do we expect to find this magical team that wants all our aging vets, and is going to give us a true "scorer" in return? Before the last two games, the Isles had won 5 of 6 and things were looking good. Even with the two losses, that is points in 7 of the last 8 right? Not too shabby Let's play things out with the team we have and see where we stand at the deadline.

Another year of mediocrity (making the playoffs and going out in one round) sure beats what we all endured for the better part of a decade. I am glad the expectations have been raised, but let's not throw the towel in so quickly. Still half the season to be played folks.

boy you guys are a bunch of whiners!!! yah, we all new going in that this isle team was not going to be filled with star scorers, but gritty, hard working, charactor players, and it is for the most part. You are ready to sell the farm at this stage? Have some patience and faith in snow/nolan. I believe that they have a plan. Also,You can't really think that Kyle O is ready for the NHL yet. He may have the skill, but definately not the maturity or charator. Lets not ruine a good thing by rushing.

LOVE JIGGS!! Why is he filling in, anyone know?

Still, glad I'm not a Ranger fan. They have the stars and not any better off than the Isles.

Claire

Let me try and get in the heads of the bobbleheads (nod to Steady :) ), if possible.

I've been playing Rotisserie baseball--and somewhat successfully for more than 20 years. While, it may be laughable to some to make such a comparison, the one thing I've noticed over the course of time is the players usually end up playing to their mean. That is, a 20-goal scorer will end up with roughly 20 goals and a .280 hitter will finish the season near .280. The players may not play at this pace all season (e.g., hit .240 the first half and .320 the second half), or they may have career or off-years, but the percentages say they will come close to their mark.

So with Snolan, I believe there is an inherent sense that the Isles goal scoring will come around. Nolan has said as much. And once again, if you look at the standings, there is a fine line between finishing 3rd and 13th in our conference. So once again, Snolan must feel that any playoff spot other than 8th or maybe 7th, offers a good opportunity to win at least one playoff round and maybe even advance to the finals. And it's human nature to want to drink one's own Kool-Aid on our chances--especially when no one else is running away from the pack and we've had reasonable success against the teams in our own division.

As for personnel, I have no problem starting Okposo in Bridgeport and gauging from there what to do for the rest of the season.

MAB is an interesting character, because it seems like the more confidence he gains, the worse he plays. He thinks he can do more than he is actually capable. But for all those who want to trade him for all his glaring errors, the only question I ask is who would want him and what would we get if he's so obviously bad? Are we the only scouts on the continent?

I've been with AZS all year regarding the kids--and Tambellini. For heaven’s sake, we made trades in the past to get Randy Robitaille here on the PP, so it makes no sense to me why a guy like Tamby should be playing and getting PP time. To take what MAB does best, the PP, his long-term success is only possible if we have a credible threat of moving the puck down low, with skilled playmakers to open up the point, and vice versa. Is Tamby that guy? I’m not really sure, but I do know that the personnel we have now are not the answer. I also believe Tamby was so fearful of making a mistake, that he lost a lot of aggressiveness in his offensive game.

So, with the exception of what to do with Tambellini and Okposo, until February rolls around, I think what you see is what you get. We’ll do reasonably well against teams with lesser speed that can’t establish an aggressive forecheck that takes away the sideboards (we have no to consistently carry the play up the middle) and we’ll need to rely on stronger than average goaltending.

One final note—did anyone notice the irony in how Theodore stoned Bergie late in the 3rd period by throwing his leg up and out and Bergie’s soft rebound lift. When we’re always yelling for someone to lift the puck, had Bergie simply kept the puck on the ice, he would have slid it right underneath the pad for a 2-1 lead!!! There, my friends, is the marginal difference between writing congratulatory posts and condemning ones!

Right on D-money,
I, for one, am enjoying the hell out of this season,
Nice meeting you and your bride the other night. Sorry I didn't have time to buy you a beer as I was being hustled out of there by my entourage.
Had an interesting time at the game, my proximity to the Av bench kept me under the scrutiny of ushers AND police (they tried, warned and threatened me but couldn't run me out of there-it's a fine line ya' know).
I'll blog about it another time.

BTW and FWIW
Don't know if you people back east could tell on TV, but there were LOTS of Isles fans in attendance. Years ago I would go down to LAX for Isles games (during the glory years) and I could count the Isles fans on one hand.
Saturday night I could even hear "Let's go Islanders" chants starting, which were quickly drowned out by the Av's fans but nevertheless it was an indication of a good size Islander crowd.

505, I did notice that. It also seemed most of the Isles fans had visible seats, because I saw many jerseys during play and stoppages.

I want to clarify what I said earlier, because it's right on one hand to call out the gloom and doom people (I know - I took it upon myself to call out many gloom and doom sort of people on this blog last year). It's been fun to watch this year, and I've said many times that it's difficult to re-load a team when there are problems like low attendance or a new arena plan that needs civic approval. However, if the season becomes a lost cause, and/or if the right trade comes along for guys who have not been contributing so far this year, the Islanders owe it to their long-term future to make that deal.

Also, did anybody else see the interview Ted Nolan had about Robert Nilsson? He in essence said Nilsson didn't have the desire or the heart to match his skill level. In addition, I didn't realize Ryan O'Marra was injured for the year after his demotion to the ECHL. Can we finally settle once and for all that these two guys would never have contributed AS ISLANDERS, and move on?

505 - that's craziness! And to let you know, they did confiscate my chilis at the door...something about bringing in food from outside. As if I was gonna sit there and tack whacks off of a green chili between sips of Fat Tire? But, they did put them in a safe place for me, and I picked them up after the game. THANKS AGAIN!

And to the Isles fans in attendance - FANTASTIC SHOWING! The only times the Avs fans chanted or made any noise was after us Isles fans started our own "Let's go Islanders" or each time the Avs were stoned by DP (they did catch on quickly to the "DP! S*cks" chant after each of his stellar saves).

And, for the second time at an Avs/Isles game, I sat behind the net DP was guarding twice. All I will say is the guy is an incredible goalie!

Nick,

"505, I did notice that. It also seemed most of the Isles fans had visible seats, because I saw many jerseys during play and stoppages."

I have been told by my sources on LI that after the Jackman goal there was a TV shot of a goateed fat guy in a jersey with an ancient Isles hat on dancing in the row.
That was the THIRD time I was threatened with ejection. (With a few more to follow).
Quote of the night:
"Sir, if you continue to say "mean" things to the Avalanche players, I will have you thrown out of here".

Then I saw you on TV, my misbehaved friend.

"Mean" things? Perfect...

Also, doesn't anyone else want to hear more about this dinner at Ryan Smyth's house that many Islanders attended? It intrigues me, though it hurt when he apparently said he could've seen himself signing and living on Long Island.

505 - You're famous. Jiggs and Jaffe were laughing out loud at your "dancing". Looks like you were having a great time. Omly wish the team could've given you a better game.

Cincy,
I defer to AZS as pertains to "Famous Shots on TV". His is by far, still, and will always remain NUMBER ONE in my book.

Besides, I'll bet AZS was not threatened with ejection after his famous moment on TV.
I had to contend with the ugly staredowns and threats from Sister Mormon of the Holy Ushers all game long during any "outbursts of spontaneity".

I think 505 should open up a dance academy
;-)
Quality moves ...it was funny ...I saw you dancing and said "that guy has to be from this board" ;-) ...well done ...

"Quality moves ...it was funny"

I call it the "505 Twelve Step" (with apologies to AA)
;)

Must have been the altitude...does crazy things to ya even coming from NM!

D-Money,
Thanks for the attempted "out" but it doesn't work.
We in ABQ are "higher" than you.
In fact, from the little known movie trivia files....
The great fallacy of the original "Airport" movie was that "snowed in" Denver was the only airport the ill fated plane could land at because of an altitude activated bomb.
Fact is ABQ is at a higher elevation than that of the old Stapleton Airport and Petroni's precious plane could have landed here but that would have ruined the movie.

Candyman....We do not fight on this board anymore so I will ignore your ignorant comment. Too say Sillinger is the problem is pretty funny. Hope your blog is talking about a lot more than that!

505....You can give Travolta a run for his money. How many beers does it take to learn the twelve step dance? lol

Only time I have been on TV is catching pucks. I have three in my career. One a long long time ago off of Peter Stats stick. One two years ago at NVMC off of Brashear. Than one last year in the OT of Isles vs. Bruins.

Next Isles game I attend I will have to change all that. Working on my dance moves tonight!

I hate Edmonton....Let's get 2 tonight!
