Terrapins Inks Four
Mepham’s Chris Parker, East Meadow’s Nicole Banker, Uniondale’s Ashley Hendrix and Chad Hall each recently signed national letters of intent to attend the University of Maryland.
Kellenberg Second at CHSAA Intersectionals
Kellenberg scored 40 points and placed second behind Molloy’s 47 on Feb. 10 at CHSAA Intersectionals at the Armory. Kellenberg qualified in seven events for the state meet on March 8, including Kaitlin Stordeur (3000 meters), Kristin Wenthen (55 dash), Meghan Wendleken (300), Ashleigh Whitfield (triple jump), Angela Ferrante (high jump), Kelsey Gardner (600), Candace Gibson, Gardner, Wenthen, and Wendleken (4 x 400 relay).
Hauppauge sets record
Hauppauge’s 4 x 200 relay team of Dasja Barnard, JoAnna Kettell, Caitlin Dowd and Teresa McHale placed third in a school record time 1:54.48 at the Suffolk Small Schools championships on Feb. 7, according to coach Ed DunphyThe previous record of 1:54.60 was set in 2000.
