While I praise any improvement to the coverage of indoor track, to look through both the printed edition and the on-line edition on Newsday and fail to see any references to the 2,300 male and female high school track and field athletes that competed Friday night 12/21 at the only 200 meter indoor track on Long Island does a disservice to those 2,300 athletes.

I invite one and all to come down to our Fieldhouse (corner of the LIE and Wicks Rd.) and watch an amazing array of sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers, shot putters, middle and long distance runners, both young men and young women

Dear Gregg, You may remember Mike Schieck from baseball. He won the homerun derby (although he missed the final round due to lack of communication) and running the bases, a couple of years ago (on the Hurricanes team). He has since focused his efforts on track and field. He is friends with Kyle Merber and would have been on his team were it not for his decision to go to Chaminade, much to the Hills West coaches dismay. His team won States in the 4X800 last year, which wasn't covered by newsday, and they're doing great this year. Please watch for them in the upcoming Milrose games and future events. His name has beem misspelled if you look for him on Dyestat etc. (ex:schiek). His sister Kristen, a sophmore is also an accomplished runner. Her Hills West team won the league champs 1/27/08, also not covered by newsday. We would sure appreciate it if you could cover some of these events.
