Kudos to Jill Donnelly and Lindsey Taylor. Donnelly, right now, has leads in 2/3 of the requisite offensive categories for the Triple Crown. Taylor, the mound maestro who's leading in wins and ERA, needs only to catch Jessica Stavola in strikeouts for the pitching trifecta.

Players of the Day

Monique Torres went 2-for-3 with two home runs, including a Grand Slam, and drove in five runs to lead Mineola (7-0) in their 20-1 walloping of Westbury yesterday. Ouch for Westbury, but props for Torres.

Jamie Castellano scattered four hits and whiffed eight batters in five innings to lead Hauppauge (4-2) over Comsewogue, 16-0. She also went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs.

Her teammate, Katerina Menendez, went 2-for-2 with two three-run dingers, two walks and seven RBIs.
