Stavola has a…well, Stavola-like performance
Yesterday, East Hampton beat Rocky Point, 7-0, behind superstar Jessica Stavola, who pitched a complete game one-hitter (with no walks) and struck out 19.
In her first start, she threw a no-hitter and blanked Commack, 4-0, fanning 13 along the way.
Last season, Stavola led all of New York in strikeouts with 371, which was a Long Island record, and set the state record for strikeouts in a game with 24 against Miller Place. She finished with a 0.19 ERA. The senior has commit to UConn.
“The way she’s started this season,” said coach Lou Reale, “who knows, she might break her own records.”
