Can anyone stop Garden City?
The Garden City girls lacrosse team notched their 10th straight win (5-0 in Conference I) after defeating Manhasset, 22-14, on Wednesday and I am beginning to wonder if the Lady Trojans can be stopped?
Garden City’s biggest test of the season will come against undefeated Shoreham-Wading River (10-0) on Saturday, and those of you who follow girls lacrosse, it doesn’t get much better than this. Both teams won a state championship last season (as Garden City took home the Class B crown and Shoreham-Wading River won the Class C title) and will likely be contenders this year.
Garden City is led by Erin Brennan (34 goals, 23 assists), Becky Lynch (27 goals, 27 assists) and Caroline McTiernan (27 goals, 10 assists) while Shoreham-Wading River is led by Kaitlyn Brosco (24 goals, 13 assists), Stephanie Anderson (24 goals, 12 assists) and Jen DeVito (21 goals, five assists).
The game will be at Garden City (Pal Complex, Furrows Road) at 4pm. Who do you think will win?
