BY ADAM RONIS

After three days of trials at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., Sammy Prahalis was one of 12 players selected to the 2008 USA 18-and-under Olympic team. She was one of 35 players invited to try out. The 5-7 Prahalis, Newsday's Player of the Year, will train in Colorado Springs from July 10-16 and in Washington D.C. from July 17-20 before leaving for the FIBA championships. Prahalis, a point guard who played at Commack, will play at Ohio State. She was a McDonald's All-American and the NY Gatorade Player of the Year. She averaged 30.1 points, 7.9 assists and 7.2 steals.
