North Babylon honored

The North Babylon girls basketball team was honored by Suffolk Legislator Lou D’Amaro (D-North Babylon) at the Legislature’s May 13th General Meeting for winning its second consecutive Long Island Class AA Championship. The team reached the Class AA state title game for the second straight season. A resident of the school district, Legislator D’Amaro presented the team and district administrators with Proclamations before the entire Suffolk County Legislature. North Babylon also received the New York State Scholar Athlete team award for achieving a cumulative grade point average of 91.85.
“I commend all of the players, coaches and supporting administrators who have combined educational excellence with athletic prowess to bring honor to the community,” Legislator D’Amaro said in a press release. “I am proud to call them my neighbors and am confident that they will continue to represent North Babylon well in their future endeavors.”
