Dani Iervolino (St. John the Baptist): Iervolino suffered a black eye and broken nose against St. Michael Academy in the CHSAA state semifinal. She took an elbow on the play, winced in pain and never left the floor or even requested a timeout after the play. She never came out of the game and scored 10 of her 15 points in the fourth quarter in a 63-49 win over the No. 8 team in the country, according to USA Today. She added eight assists. Even after the game, she didn't even know the severity of the injury. She had eight points and seven assists in a CHSAA state final win over Molloy (Queens).
Christine Huber (St. John the Baptist): Huber had 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots in the CHSAA state final against Molloy as SJB won its second consecutive state championship. She had 22 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots in the semifinals against St. Michael Academy.
Eugeneia McPherson (North Babylon): McPherson scored 31 points in a Class AA state semifinal win over Corcoran and scored 32 points in the championship game, a 59-54 loss to Rush-Henrietta, which has won three consecutive championships.
