North Babylon holds off Hicksville

North Babylon held off Hicksville 55-53 in the Long Island Class AA championship. Hicksville did a phenomenal job slowing down Bria Hartley (13 points) and Eugeneia McPherson (11 points) forcing North Babylon to shoot from the perimeter. North Babylon shot 7-for-30 from beyond the arc.

But North Babylon got scoring from seven different players. Maliqua Fisher scored 11 points on her 17th birthday and Kelly Whitaker scored nine points. Caitlin Fifield added six points. Hicksville's Michelle Kurowski scored 22 points and missed a driving layup with one second left. It was a very competitive game.
