Some separation in League IV

BY ADAM RONIS

The race in Suffolk League IV has become real tight over the past week. Half Hollow Hills West, Riverhead, Smithtown West and Kings Park have all played well and are vying for first place.

But Hills West and Riverhead created some breathing room tonight with victories. Hills West beat Smithtown West, 60-55, and Riverhead downed Kings Park, 54-45. Hills West is 7-1; Riverhead is 6-1; and both Smithtown West and Kings Park are 5-3.

Hills West already defeated Riverhead easily at home, but the teams meet again at Riverhead in what could decide the league title. It has been an interesting race and don't be surprised if things tighten up again.
