There was really nothing East Hampton could do.
When your tallest starter (Hayden Ward) is 6-5 and he's matched up against a 6-10 bean stalk (J-D center Nick Pascale), chances are you're going to get outhustled on the boards. Chances are you're going to wear yourself out jumping for loose balls and shooting over outstretched hands.
No amount of Mikey Russell three-pointers (three in all) is going to change that. It's just that simple.
But give the Bonackers credit though. They trimmed an 18-point third quarter deficit to just seven with 5:07 left to play in the fourth, thanks to five straight made-free throws by Marcus Edwards and Mikey Russell and an Edwards basket.
But down the stetch, it was all Jamesville-Dewitt. The Red Rams -- who out-rebounded EH 44-26 for the game -- outscored the Bonackers 21-4 from that point on.
Mickey Davis scored a game-high 19 points for Jamesville-Dewitte, Nick Pascale finished with 14 points and 19 rebounds and tournament MVP Brandon Triche added 17 (including three three-pointers.)
Marcus Edwards led East Hampton with 15 points and nine rebounds. Mikey Russell, who went 4-for-15 from the field, scored 14 points and chipped in two steals. Jerome Russell added 10.
