Players of the Week: Nassau & Suffolk

BY KIMBERLEY A. MARTIN

I could've just picked one player from each county -- but where's the fun in that?

Players of the Week

NASSAU
Austin Gilbert (Hewlett):
Gilbert hit six of the Bulldogs' 10 total three-pointers in a 71-64 win over Oyster Bay on Friday. He finished with 22 points.

Tyrece Redd (Hempstead): Redd hit a bank shot from 6 feet at the buzzer to give Hempstead a much-needed league win over Elmont on Friday.

Trevor Parker (Port Wash.): Parker hit the winning three-pointer off an inbounds pass with 4.1 seconds left as the Vikings squeaked past Babylon, 52-51.

SUFFOLK
Keith Robinson (Pierson): Robinson's first career triple double (15 points, 12 assists, 11 rebounds) gave the Whalers a 51-37 League VIII win over Ross Friday.

Tyler O'Rourke (Westhampton): O'Rourke recorded his first career triple double (23 points, 13 rebounds and 12 blocks) as the Hurricanes topped Shoreham-Wading River, 44-37, in League VI Friday.

Jasper Creegan (Ross):
Creegan broke the school record with 46 points in a double-overtime victory against Shelter Island last Wednesday. The previous record of 33 points by Mark McGrath was set in 2003.
