Wednesday should be an interesting day for the Clarke and Seaford baseball programs. Game 1 between the teams was suspended on Tuesday after four-plus innings due to inclement weather with top-seeded Clarke ahead, 10-3. Seaford had three runs in and a man on second with no outs in the top of the fifth when the game was called.
Game 1 will resume Wednesday at Clarke at 3:00 p.m. At the conclusion of the game, the teams will pack up and head to Seaford for Game 2. It's a situation Clarke coach Tom Abruscato said he hasn't experienced.
"It's the fair thing to do," Abruscato said. "Both games could have been played here, but no team wants to give up a home game in a best-of-three."
Rob Iovino and Mike Jungen each homered off Sean Nolan in the first inning to give Clarke a 3-0 lead. Clarke added seven more in the second and led 10-0.
