The Schiano rumor mill is running, again
By Adam Abramson
NJ.com is reporting that Rutgers head coach and Michigan met to discuss the vacancy left by Lloyd Carr in Ann Arbor.
Even after reports surfaced that LSU coach Les Miles would stay in Baton Rouge, I still was very curious as to how that would play out. Well, Miles inked his deal with the Tigers and is there to stay.
We saw the rumors fly around Schiano and Miami last year, the school he served as defensive coordinator before going to Rutgers. But will he be able to turn down a job with the Wolverines?
I'll put my money on him leaving. And Tim Tebow winning the Heisman.
Friday is move-in day. So I will be around in the evening to chat. Until then, wish me luck.

Reports are now that Schiano will stay at Rutgers.
A big sigh of relief - he's staying on the banks of the Raritan. I have said this before and I'll say it again, why would Schiano leave Rutgers when the University sold him land and he just built a house right on campus and all his roots are in NJ? The only job he would consider is Penn State's as Paterno has made it very clear that he wants Schiano to replace him when he retires. When that happens, then Schiano will move on.
Navy's Paul Johnson has signed a deal with Georgia Tech, according to ESPN
From the Rutgers website....
STATEMENT FROM HEAD COACH GREG SCHIANO
"I was contacted earlier this week about the Michigan coaching vacancy, but I have decided to remove my name from consideration. I look forward to our third straight bowl game and to bringing a national championship to Rutgers and the state of New Jersey. I will have no further comment."
Why go to Ann Arbor when you live in the garden spot of Newark?
Congrats to the Big East, they may not lose a single coach this year now that Paul Johnson has decided to take his potent triple-option spread offense to GT. Johnson would get my vote for coach of the year by the way.
I'm really looking forward to next year, Kragthorpe will certainly get louisville back on track in his 2nd season, Pitt is poised to take the next step, Brian Kelly has looked like a magician at Cincy, USF may be getting the Big Easts best recruiting class, Rutgers will still have Schiano, the only weakness I see is up at Syracuse, and they really can't get much worse can they?
Big East football. Now we need our AD's to start scheduling tougher OOC contests.
