Evening. The move is almost complete.
Greg Schiano is staying at Rutgers, which comes as a surprise to me. If Michigan wants to offer me the job, I don't have a buyout clause or any other major hurdles to overcome. Newsday would have to understand.
Again, why isn't Ron English taking over the reigns? He's a fantastic coordinator and should be given a shot...
And good for Schiano. First he turns down insane money and now he turns down insane tradition. There's no way you can doubt his dedication to building the Rutgers program to heights its never seen. I'm excited to see what happens if he keeps taking control over some of Jersey's top talent, so should the Scarlet Knights.

Rumor has it he's looking toward JoePa's retirement and an eventual move to State College.
Black N Gold,
That's old news. Everybody knows he is the successor to JoePa. Schiano's first goal is to get the stadium expanded and Rutgers into the BCS championship picture - and JoePa has been encouraging him every step of the way - even so much as to say that Rutgers should be incorporated into the Big Ten. Look for Schiano to get NJ kids to stay home, build a future powerhouse, and then leave the team in capable hands as he heads off into the sunset at PSU in 5-10 years when JoePa hangs them up.
Desert Cat,
Nothings a forgone conclusion. My only point is that I don't think anyone would take the Michigan job, enter into a contract that pays them less than they're currently making, and then bolt after a year or two to another Big Ten school.
Besides, with the recent revelation that JoePa is making $500K, I don't see PSU giving his successor the kind of money it would take to attract an existing Top 25 head coach.
Oh, and as for Rutgers bolting to the Big Ten, why on earth would they want to do that? The Big East is already a better conference than the Big Ten and is only getting better. Rutgers is an East Coast institution and would benefit little by playing the majority of their games in the Upper Mid-West.
