I know a guy...

By Adam Abramson

The guy says Boston College coach Tom O'Brien will head down to coach the Wolfpack.

That should make things interesting when BC plays NCSU down the road.

For my New York readers: John Elliot, the big time OL from East Meadow was seriously considering BC...wonder if this will change things? He also has some interest in Michigan.

ALSO...I hear BC people like Jim Fassel...I don't know why.

Gotta go...you heard it here firsttttttttttttttttttt.

News & Observer seems to confirm your report on O'Brien:

http://www.newsobserver.com/122/story/518442.html

The paper quotes Chargers QB Philip Rivers.

When was the last time a coach switched jobs but stayed in the ACC?

Nothing comes to mind...I can think of assistants, but not head coaches, I'll look into it later today if I can.

O Brien not only got paid double, but now he gets out of his static Coastal opponent each year: VT...he now gets to tune up on Butch for a couple years, and then play UNC thereafter.

You know that OBrien immediately groaned when he beat VT in october, because he knew it would be 4-5 more years before he got another.

oh, and bc alumni have to be the weakest, not traveling anyplace for bowl games like that. they deserve what they get...and it looks like what they get is bob davie!

Merry xmas BC

Okay, is there any truth to the talk about BC going back to Big East? Apparently, the predomiantly Northeast-based alumni want a chance to see them play locally. Sounded far fetched at first but the more I think about it, the more silly it is that BC plays down south.

Thanks for the reply.

I am not somebody who gives props to football players just because they score touchdowns. Troy Smith is one of those kids that often gest lost in the shuffle or deemed a throwaway. Other people put their souls into to helping this kid. Coming from where he has wouldnt have happened without those people. Troy has held up his part of the bargain and become a leader of men becuase of the tutelage of several men. His stepfather, tedd ginn Sr and Jim Tressel. If the trophy is awarded to troy it isnt a tribute to only his amazing on the field prowress, it is a tribute to people that reached out to help a kid.

Him winning the heisman is a victory for not only Troy but for people who believe that they can make a difference in the lives of young people.

He is the greatest Ohio State player of all time. If he dosnt win it is a crime.

Is there magic in the air there??
