A little more in the coffers

According to an article by Jason Cole at Yahoo! Sports (man, I gotta get me an exclamation point in my byline), here is a list of the 32 NFL teams and their space under the salary cap as of last Thursday. The Jets are at $4.5 million.

As you can see, the Jets have nearly depleated their buffer after starting the offseason about $20-$25 million under. Now, if they get rid of or rework cap-heavy D-Robertson and maybe even find a draft day taker for Pennington, that number would change.

And how about the Cardinals. They couldn't even afford to buy a decent house in Nassau County right now.

1. Tampa Bay $42.8 million
2. New Orleans $31.1 million
3. Kansas City $30.0 million
4. Tennessee $27.2 million

I just heard that Chad Pennington put his house up for sale 2 days ago. Anyone have any info as to whether this is an indicator that he is leaving the team?

Don't read too much into it Randy. Don't forget that the Jets are moving off Long Island within the next couple of months, so either way, he and the rest of the LI-based Jets are probably putting their For Sale signs out.

But it is intriguing.

I'm still bitter at the move off Long Island. I hate we're sharing digs with the Giants in the first place, and now re-upping with a new place with them as well....bah!

The Jets are a Long Island team. Always will be.
