Well, that’s it. Season’s over. Just the two exhibition games left.
I was amazed at how drained all of the Jets looked after the game yesterday. I won’t say “drowned rats” because that would be too easy and make the Patriot fans stand up and cheer, but they were definitely exhausted mentally and physically. It’ll be tough for them to get up for the last two games, and interesting to see how Mangini tries to get them going. That finale on Dec. 30 could have both coaches yelling “Play to win the game!” from the sideline.
No player availability today. Moral victory Monday. The players deserve it. They did work very hard and put a lot of effort into this game against the Patriots.
One issue I do have with the players is their growing insistence of answering questions one way before the game and another after the game. A few of them said yesterday that they were miffed about the size of the point spread and the lack of respect they were getting going into New England. Really? Because when we asked THE SAME QUESTIONS during the week before the game they mostly blew it off as if it didn’t matter to them. They did the same thing when they were underdogs against the winless Dolphins. Well, now we know that they really do pay attention to those things no matter what they say.
How does a player answer the point spread and respect questions honestly during the week? They can’t just come out and say that they are using it as motivation, which they later admitted that they were. Why not just say something like “How would that make you feel?” or “How do you think it makes us feel?” At least then we wouldn’t have the contradictions from Friday to Sunday.
Just on a side note: Watching the highlights of the games last night, every time I saw Jessica Simpson in that Tony Romo jersey I couldn’t help but think about that Carrie Underwood song where she wrecks the dude’s car. That’s one vengeful American Idol. Maybe Tony should think about hiring someone to stand guard over his Camaro or whatever he drives these days. He seems like a Camaro guy.

Hey Tom, since there's not much to cover for the rest of the season, can you try getting to the bottom of the PSL issue?
Since you're in a better position than I and the rest of your readers are, maybe in the next couple of weeks you can try to drag some information out of the front office.
I'm beginning to thinkthat these may be the last few seasons for many season ticket holders, sadly.
Are you kidding me?! After that game all you can come up with is ragging on the players for not giving New England bulletin board material and after the game divulging that the lack of respect hurt their feelings?! You should apply for a job with TMZ!! You truly are the zitsoid poster boy for what is wrong with news paper reporting in America. No Substance, just looking for minusha to rag about! Can you quit this beat and move on to the gossip department or something. My goodness aren't you ashamed of yourself?

For the life of me, I can't understand why Mangini is getting a pass for yesterday's "at least we didn't get blown out" performance.
You can talk all about McCareins drops, and Baker's fumble, and Nugent's miss, but how about the horrible offensive game plan??
You get a rare Brady turnover and get the ball deep in Pats territory, and you let Brad Smith take the whole series? 4th and 2 and you ask Brad "I've never thrown a pass in a NFL" Smith to come through?
How many times did they think the Pats would fall for the option?
And if there's one thing that other teams have shown you, its that the Pats are vulnerable to the run. So, the Jets hand the ball off the Jones 9 times? 9 times?!?!?!
I know its hard to get worked up about getting beat by the perfect Patriots, but we had a real chance, and it looked like Mangini was trying really hard NOT to win that game.
