A proper bloody mary
By Tom Rock

I was stunned to learn today that a bloody mary includes a pickle. Katie Strang made that announcement this morning as we were browsing over the lunch plate of a Star-Ledger reporter (which included an abundance of pickles). Apparently Katie uses pickles in place of -- or sometimes in concert with -- the traditional celery stick. She also admitted that she likes to drink pickle juice.
Speaking of mixology, the Jets are mixing things up with their inactives for this game. Here the players who are out: Tuiasosopo, D.Coleman, Barnes, Will Montgomery, Adrian Jones, Jason Pociask and C.J. Mosley.
That means that Jacob Bender and Mike DeVito are both activated for the first time today. It's hard to imagine they both stood out in practice since they probably go up against each other on a regular basis. The inactive list also means that Matt Chatham, who came off the PUP list a few hours ago, will be available to play. We'll keep an eye on how those guys are used. Also, Chris Baker is active after missing last week's game with a back injury.
Bills RB Anthony Thomas was a late addition to the Bills injury report with an eye injury, and he is inactive.
Weekly fashion report: Jets are wearing green shirts and white pants. Bills are wearing white shirts with blue on the shoulders and white pants.

I have to admit that I am getting a little tired of Chad running the play clock to zero which lets everyone know exactly when the ball will be snapped. I guess the staff is still surprised that other teams are waiting for that opportunity to blitz. I'll bet that half of the 19 (and counting) sacks have come as a result of this. If they want I can tape the games for them so that they can see this for themselves.
Not only can he not move the offense, and our plays are predictiable, and we can't throw it downfield etc. but he gets coles and cotchery killed with his floaters. Can we just move on to a new era and bench him. He fought like hell and was a tremendous leader for 5+ years. He got us a Doug Brien double shank from the AFC title game but the time has come. Sit Chad. Sit him for good.
Hard to see how safe Mangini's job is. Done nothing right, play calls to personnel usage. He and Tan tossed this season into the dumper. They make the playoffs in 09 or he goes, and takes his front office pal along.
Get Chad the hell away from this team. Simply garbage once again.
Mangidiot better replace him with Clemens right now!!!
Looks like they might've pulled the plug on Chad. I just woke up and saw Clemens was in. Down 10, there was still enough time for an improbable-but-possible comeback, which means they probably didn't think Chad was capable. Well, at least the games should be more fun to watch now. I think Clemens will take more chances and, even in losses, you'll be watching the development of the new QB.
I like how Belichick is running the score up on teams. They were up 38-0 on the Skins and went for it on 4th down. It violates the "unwritten rule," but I respect that. Relentless until the final gun; no mercy. It gets Brady to the TD record a lil' quicker and makes the league and fans of other teams hate them more.
Props to TR for airing the pickle juice thing. It's probably a midwest thing.
Once again.. another loss. Anyone notice how much thinner and tanner Manidiot is? Obviously his focus in NOT on the Jets and winning. Maybe Tony should have put one in the back of his head, instead of shaking his hand.
This team is lost. This is worse than the Kotite era because we HAVE the talent to win. But with these stupid gadget plays that don't work, and all the movements at the line, we're not fooling anyone but ourselves. Watching Coles get killed again on another lame duck throw from Noodle was insane. If I was Coles, when I came to, even as his friend, I'd punch Chad in the head. Just to let him know how it feels.
This team is lead by idiots. Two guys that are too young to be where they are, and it really shows now. You have 2 snot nosed, rich kids running this team like 2 spoiled rotten brothers run Dad's business into the ground. Not only have we botched every player decision this year, we've botched countless play-calls and winnable games.
I don't see a winning future for this team, now or next year. We have the talent to win today... even with Noodle throwing the ball. We run, and gain yards... then pull the RB. We try for 1st downs on 2nd and 1 situations instead of going down field, even for 20 yards. Our Defense can't stop a High School Football team, let alone an NFL team, but the talent is there... it's in the WRONG scheme... not the wrong players.
How come I can see all this, but Manidiot doesn't?
It's OK... soon they'll be called the NEW JERSEY JETS, and then I can choose ANY other OUT-OF-STATE Football team to root for.
Jimmy Cheese Jets don't have enough talent on O line or on Dline. None of the schemes can't compensate for lack of strength at the point of attack. They need to bring at least two or three guys to help them with that and they''ll be allright. They do have talent at skilled positions.
I agree somewhat... they were running well against the Bills, who have as much talent on Defense as we have on Offense. TJ was doing great... and they abandoned him. They only beat us by 10 points, and we moved the ball well on the ground. This idiot just doesn't understand that when something is working well... stick with it. Why pull some stupid gadget play on a 3-1? That was the same as the 2-1 QB sneak. Why do that? Is a 1st down THAT important?
Our D Line and Defense in general has very good talent, but we are not a 3-4, we are a 4-3. Robertson did as good as if not better than most out there in the 4-3, and the rest were very comfortable in it. Herm's D-fense was much better than Manidiots.
You can't make something you don't have the materials for.
I think the Pats are going to break an NFL point record against us... maybe 70+. If they put up 50 on the skins... we might as well forfeit today and save the embarrassment.
This season ended with the whole Pete Kendall situation in training camp. What player is going to light a spark on this team? New week, same crappy result and same robot quotes from the locker-room, "we work hard in practice, blah blah blah" What do you think the spread will be in the Jets/Pats game in December? It has to be at least 24 points at this stage.
Anyone know if the Pats/Indy game is going to be broadcast locally at 4:15p since the Giants have a bye??
F@#$% the Patriots!!!!!
