Here is the Jets 53-man roster as of this afternoon’s cuts:
QB: Pennington, Clemens, Tuiasosopo
RB: Jones, Washington
FB: Barnes, Tutt
TE: Baker, Ryan, Kowalewski, Pociask
WR: Coles, Cotchery, McCareins, Smith, Wright, Stuckey
OL: Ferguson, Jones, Clarke, Bender, Mangold, Smith, Moore, Clement
DL: Ellis, Robertson, Coleman, Hicks, Mosley, Pouha, DeVito
LB: Thomas, Hobson, Vilma, Barton, Harris, Bowens, Kassell, Spencer
CB: Dyson, Barrett, Poteat, Revis, Miller, Coleman
S: Rhodes, Coleman, Smith, Washington
K: Nugent
P: Graham
LS: Dearth
Some notable cuts include Bobby Hamilton, Kimo von Oelhoffen, Anthony Schlegel and Andre Wadsworth. The Jets kept one rookie free agent, DE Mike DeVito from Maine.
Mangini said the team is not involved in any trade discussions right now, just focusing on sifting through the cuts from the other 31 teams. And they’ll probably keep a few of the castoffs for the practice squad and will sign them after a 24-hour window.

No Danny Ware? Keeping an utter turd like Tuiasosopo (who, incidentally, played the worst game I've ever seen by a professional QB in the 2005 finale against the Jets) ahead of a young, tough, hard-running kid who showed a lot of ability is a big mistake.
How can you choos3 4 tight ends and only two running backs?
I agree about Ware and the TE's... that's alot of TE's...
I'm shocked that Ventrone didn't make it as a special teamer.
I hope we get him to our practice squad atleast
We kept 6 WR's and 4 TE's. I guess they're expecting Noodle to have a break-out year and need more pass catchers?
I don't understand this team anymore. I would have kept Ware and pounded the hell out of the ball with the 3 RB
s and Tutt/Barnes blocking for them. Did we really need 6 WR's?
You guys are right - there's no need for all those WRs unless Mangini is anticipating benching or an injury to Chad and he then puts in someone who can throw an out pattern or a deep ball. Maybe that's why they dept Tui. He'll be number two to Clemens in case of benching or injury to Chad.
In the meantime, they'll need those TEs as blockers. I bet we'll see a lot of 2 (or even 3) TE formations both for run blocking and to protect Chad.
