So this is what the bogs have come to: Me daring Glauber to write about naked people. The 21st Century is truly a great time. Too bad I wasn't with Neil Best at the time. He'd have found a much more appropriate (or inappropriate?) picture.
As expected, the Jets put Justin Miller on IR after he suffered a season-ending right knee injury on Sunday. The NFL’s fastest man and the Jets’ only Pro Bowler will be back in 2008. Maybe.
The Jets haven’t announced any new signings, but remember that Mangini went with a 52-man roster for a number of weeks last year.
Also caught wind of an article that’ll be in this week’s issue of Sports Illustrated. Peter King, writing about the Patriots cheating scandal, quotes an unnamed NFL head coach as saying: “If he wasn’t before, Mangini’s dead to Belichick now” and “What Mangini did is a disgrace. He wouldn’t be a coach in this league without Bill, and this is how he repays him.”
Tomorrow is the big Newsday Insider football pow-wow. I'll let you know how that goes. And I’ll let you know if I see any more dead or naked people.

Best would have posted a scantily-clad Ravens cheerleader just because we were in Baltimore. Then he would have defeneded himself by saying other blogs post more revealing pictures than that.
heres my thing. I can understand belicheck being pissed about mangini going to the jets,I really dont blame him for bein upset at all.
But in regards to spy gate, what does it say about belicheck that he would still have someone illegally filming the jets coaches knowing that mangini knows. And im assuming that mangini knew all about this. Thats pretty arrogant on belichecks part. If youre mangini how do you not do something about it. You cant just sit on your hands.
Now could you argue that mangini should have somehow alerted belicheck to stop it,and alert him discreetly? Sure, but i would imagine, and I could be wrong, that belicheck would be arrogant enough to keep doing it anyway.
Heres my final thing, and i'm being pretty naive. But STOP cheating. This goes to the jets and all sports. Of course its not gonna happen, but its a nice pipe dream to have
that comment re: mangini essentially owing his career to belichick is a joke. mangini has worked his a** off to get where he is, and he worked his way up from the very bottom. if it hadn't been in belichick's organization it would have been in somebody else's. talent is talent, and when combined with hard work the results will come out, whether you're working for belicheat or bill gates. that comment from an nfl owner just serves to show how most of these old b*stards think about the world -- it's all about them and who they choose to bestow the privilege of working for them -- meanwhile, half of them were probably born on third base thinking they hit a triple. i have more respect for mangini than i ever will for most of those blowhard silver spoons.
It bothers me how the national media is addressing this story. The Jets have never commented on this issue. They did not go public with the allegations. Belichick is caught blatantly cheating and Mangini is the bad guy? I don't get it. The initial reports indicated the Jets security chief noted the Pats assistant filming on the sideline. The security chief relayed his concerns to an NFL security rep. The NFL rep agreed with the Jets rep observations and took action. The Jets never offered this as an excuse for the week one loss or any other loss.
Everyone assumes Mangini is the one who blew the whistle on the Pats because he worked in that organization. I agree with the previous post which asks what was Mangini supposed to do if he knew Belichick was taping his signals? How do we know that Mangini did not warn Belichick against taping or he would blow the whistle?
What about the reports of additional radio waves from the Pats. Could the Pats videographer been relay some audio directly to the Pats booth?
Lastly, I love the stories of the Jets "cheating" by simulating the snap count against the Ravens. It appears to me that Billick was responding to a question on why his team had so many penalties. His response was to go into a tirade about the Jets "illegal" simulation of the snap count. Why didn't anyone take Billick to task for avoiding the question and offering up a lame excuse?
Bellicheat is a good excuse for how bad the Jets are. No defensive sacks or turnovers in two games and defense still can't stop the run.
The OL is even worse. Tangini has to be held accountable for turning a top five OL into one of the leagues worst beginning with jettisoning Kevin Mawae and Pete Kendall.
D'brickasha Ferguson is a legitimate bust. A year ago he finished 5th in giving up the most sacks ( 10 ) by all NFL OL'men (Stats, inc.)
He nearly got Pennington killed in the opener giving up the sack where CP's ankle was sprained.
Where's the run blocking? The savior, Thomas Jones has a less than 3 ypc average, no better than Kevan Barlow last year.
This line can't pass protect or run block and it will take years to correct Tangini's errors.
Where is the outrage?
What I don't get is how everyone assumes that Mangini didn't warn Belichick. They played three times last year, its not like he turned him in the first chance he got. Allow me to propose a scenario that I believe is not that unbelievable. Knowing that Mangini would be looking for it, Belichick did not tape during the first game last year and won. Having won without the taping in the first matchup, he felt confident enough not to tape during the second game as well, which they lost with Brady getting knocked around pretty good by the Jets D. When they met in the playoff game, Belichick's insecurity took hold and he decided to tape the Jets coaches. Mangini probably saw the taping and perhaps after the game or during the offseason, warned Belichick that if he noticed them taping again, he would turn them in to the NFL. Leading up to the week one matchup, Mangini gave the Jets' security personnel the heads up, and the rest is history. I'm not saying this happened this way, but its at least as realistic a scenario as any other one.
I don't think we want to hear a fat tub of lard talking about naked people.
December 16, 2007.
Armageddon.
The End of the Jets Franchise.
Mangina!
Did Bill Parcells have an ax to grind with Beli-cheat after he left the Giants for an opportunity to become a head coach? How about the countless other protoges who have come from the "coaching trees" of others? So, what's this guy's problem? By the way, it's amazing how fast you become a "genious" when you have great players. Billy Boy's record in Cleveland -- 36-44.
I wonder about that unnamed NFL coach who said about Mangini, "He wouldn’t be a coach in this league without Bill, and this is how he repays him.”
Corollary: "He (Belichick) helped make Mangini a coach in this league, and this is what he does to his protege?"
Somewhere there's a parallel universe where people actually understand what's truly write and wrong.
...yeah, I know about the typo.
