More tests for Plaxico
Wide receiver Plaxico Burress is undergoing more tests on Monday on his injured right hamstring, coach Tom Coughlin said on a conference call a few minutes ago.
Burress played one series in the Giants’ 37-29 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday before taking himself out. The Giants visit Washington this Sunday in the first of three consecutive division games.
“We should know more about it later in the day,” Coughlin said.
Asked if Burress had hurt himself more by trying to play, Coughlin said: “I don’t know. I don’t think so.”
Coughlin said he is optimistic about running back Brandon Jacobs, who was listed as probable but did not play on Sunday because of a knee injury.
After the game, Jacobs said: “I’m not going to say too much about next week. I'm going to take it day-to-day and do what I can."
