I was thinking ...

After watching the Jets play last night and come away with a big win over the Pats (even though it wasn't a win over the big Pats), it occured to me that Gang Green could find itself with a No. 2 seed in the AFC Playoffs.

Which brought me to January 18, 2009. That's the day that the NFL plays its conference championship games.

Not only could the Jets and the Giants both be in their respective title games that day, they could both be HOSTING them that day. In the same building. Forget about a Jets-Giants Super Bowl, which I'm sure people will start hypothesizing on after last night's game. The Super Bowl is in Tampa. These games would be right here in N(J)Y! On the same turf! Talk about a logistical nightmare!

I wonder how that would work. I would think TV would be averse to putting one of those games on a Saturday. And if they did that, which one would move? Maybe they'd just give the fans an hour or two between games to shuffle out of the stadium from the first contest and let the other set of fans in. That'd go peacefully, right?

Well, I guess there's only one way to find out.

I was wondering about that too, and figured the logocial thing would be move one of them to saturday.

But its a good question on who gets moved? Maybe the better record? But what is more advantageous playing on saturday or sunday?

Saturday, if you win you have an extra day for the next week, but it might throw off your football clock that might say saturday=rest

Sunday, same as above but reveresed, sunday=gameday, if win less rest for the next week.
