Catching you up

A few things you might not have been aware of in the last day or so as you enjoyed your turkey (and a few gobbler-like games to boot):

Justin Tuck missed Thursday's practice with a lower leg injury. We'll be out to catch a few minutes of practice in a little while and then in the locker room later, so I'm sure you'll get a status report on him by the end of the day.

Ahmad Bradshaw has missed the last two practices with a stiff neck. If anything, that probably means the Giants will be a shade less cautious with Brandon Jacobs. In other words, hypothetically, if they were going to say he would play only is he was at 90 percent or better with Bradshaw at their disposal, that number may be 80 percent now. I think he'll play.

The Cowboys won so the Giants cannot clinch the division title with a win on Sunday. The good news is that if they win on Sunday they'll have a chance to do it next week ... in front of the home crowd.

Can't believe that after this there are only four games left. The season is usually broken down into four four-game segments. This has been a pretty good quarter for the Giants so far.

And because the Eagles won last night, the Giants now have a chance to match the record of the 1970 Vikings for most consecutive wins over winning teams. One of the hardest parts of that record is playing so many winning teams in a row. Had the Eagles lost last night, they would have come into that Dec. 7 game against the Giants with a losing record, and the streak would have ended. But now, if they can beat the Redskins and then the Eagles, the Giants' streak will reach seven. They could shatter that record, of course, by winning out. That would likely give them 10 straight against winning teams. And assuming that they face winning teams in the playoffs, the streak could go on and on.

At least until opening day next year, because whatever team they face in that game would be 0-0. And that's not a winning record.
