One more two

Today is the final two-a-day of camp here in Albany. And of course ... it's raining. Supposed to all day. What better way to cap things off than with a day of standing out in the rain.

Anyway, I'm off to practice in a few minutes. Wanted to drop this link on you in case you missed the story:

Orthotics helping Giants' flat-footed Burress

There are some interesting thoughts in there from Dr. Craig Levitz, who talks about the use of orthotics in athletes. He says, among other things, that it usually takes about two weeks for the person wearing them to get comfortable. Burress has been wearing his for a little over a week. He also told me that many of the fastest athletes in the world are flat-footed. Basically, the flat-footedness has more to do with the angles of the hips than the actual feet, and those hips are what allow the runners to go fast. It also gives them more contact with the ground and thus, more force to push off of it with. You learn something new every day.

Anyway, maybe Plax will do a little more at either of today's practices. I'll be back later to tell you with a full practice report.

Oops! Just got word that this morning's practice will be inside the arena. Well, that's a ray of sunshine.
