Giants general manager Jerry Reese was as happy as anyone Monday as he re-lived the Giants' Super Bowl victory over New England. But he was already talking about a repeat yesterday and striving for a dynastic run like New England has had.
"That's what you want to do," Reese said. "We have a really young team. We just don't want to go away. New England set the bar really high. The league is not built for one team to stay on the top long."
Even at positions where the Giants have older players such as Michael Strahan and Amani Toomer, they already have capable replacments on the roster in defensive lineman Justin Tuck and possession receiver Steve Smith, who have five catches in Sunday's Super Bowl game.
Sleepy-looking linebacker Antonio Pierce, asked later if he was already thinking of defending the Giants' title next year, disappeared into his hotel room yesterday morning laughing and saying over his shoulder, "Let me enjoy this one first."

Well done Giants,
You guy deserve it. For being a half Scots, I'm so happy for Lawrence TYNES

This GM is certainly makeing a name for himself, I like the way he works, and I like the way he thinks.
I think Spag's will stay atleast another year...I mean if he ditched us now I would take that as a disrespectful action, beause he'd be leaveing the Giants high and dry....lets nto forget here that without this group of players Spag's would be nothing...you telling me he'd be this good withotu that defensive line?!?
Also if Mr. Reese is planning on a dynasty or repeat, he'd better anty up a handsom deal to Mr. Spagnuolo that pays him well and garantees him the job when Coughlnis done......
also i read strahan mgiht comeback to go for a repeat
Looking at the worst case scenario, what are their options for D-Cordinator if Spags leaves? Would they go in house with someone like Waufle? If Gregg Williams is still available, his aggressive calls might fit in nicely with these players. Of course, I would rather lock Spags up to be the next head coach of the Football Giants.
still cant believe that happened!!! Can someone please start printing commemerative (sp?) 18-1 patriots hoodies? Eli Manning, the same guy people said would never ever bring this team to a superbowl, is the Superbowl MVP. I really hope we can lock Spags up for a while but you cant blame him if he goes. You dont get many chances in life to make the kind of money Snyder will likely offer him to coach the Skins and his stock may never be higher. He's gotta look out for himself and his family and if he wants to go then I'd still say Thank You to him for his work this season and especially Sunday. I'd fear having to play his team twice a year though.
I just watched the tape and i'm really really disappointed by the Giants performance on sunday concerning one aspect :
The Gatorade Shower. Common' Hedgecock ! What was that ? You didn't even graze Coughlin's hair, what's the matter with that. The guy is 61 years old and he was so happy he wasn't even moving.
That was worse than Pepper's at the end of superbowl XXV, and it didn't even come close to Harry's shower from XXI (how can anyone top that anyway, he invented and perfected it to an art). If the Giants are to repeat Madison has to either :
a) leave it to the middle Linebacker
or
b) practice during the offseason on a moving target (in laws if he's married maybe ...)
We should find out by next Monday whether or not Spags will be back, but I would think he would come back for atleast one more year. GO SUPER BOWL CHAMPS!
