We're all rested and ready for playoff week. Think this guy will be?
Yeah, me too. Even if he took a curious road to the playoffs by sitting everyone.
So, we'll start off in a couple hours with TC's press conference and the injury updates, if there are any. I covered hockey for a few years, and once the calendar turned to April and the playoffs began, every injury report was a complete lie. I recall Pat Quinn, former coach of the Leafs, hinting that Mikael Renberg might play despite the fact that he had a completely torn hip flexor. "Lower body injury, day-to-day," I believe the report said.
So I'll report, but you can decide. Or something like that.
Until then, share your thoughts the way our man T-Dips did... Feeling as good about this game as the G-Men are? Thinking they're toast? Fire away.

The NY media should pick up on this ticket policy that the Bucs put in for the game on Sunday. When I saw this in the St. Pete Times, it was hard to comprehend. Since many of the Bucs season ticket holders did not buy the playoff ticket package (didn't want to pay for two potential games), many tickets are still available for Sunday's game at face value. Problem is, the Bucs will only sell them to Floridians. I guess they're afraid of having too much Blue in the stadium.
Here's their official statement on their Ticketmaster site:
Additional Information:
Raymond James Stadium is located in Tampa, FL. Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of Florida. Residency will be based on credit card billing address. Orders by residents outside Florida will be canceled without notice and refunds given.
It would be great to expose how OBNOXIOUS the Bucs organization is. I wonder if it's even legal? I'm sure Pat Hanlon would get a chuckle out of this.
I went thru Stub Hub and myself and my friends will be 14 strong cheering on the G-Men. I've been a season ticket holder since 1956 and I will get tremendous pleasure watching the Bucs fans sweat on Sunday as we walk through the turnstiles.
G-O G-I-A-N-T-S
Arthur, just to add to the comments from Tim from Seminole, according to the Bucs themselves, the game on Sunday has yet to sell out. So they implement this policy to keep us Giants fans out of there and they still cant sell all the tickets to the game anyway. Perhaps Neil Best can make mention of it on his Watchdog blog if you dont get the chance.
Scale of 1 to 10, how hard is Tiki rooting for the Bucs on Sunday? Remember he hates the Giants Organization (mostly Coughlin, Eli and the upper management) and his brother, Ronde, who he absolutely treasures, plays for the Bucs.
Is it possible that this game could be blacked out in FLA? Can a playoff game be blacked out?
To Batman,
Aaron Ross blitzing from the blindside and sacking the QB because he was untouched is one thing. Sending him up the middle to take a FB head on is another.
Since I only watched one game this year and am completely ignorant, can you tell me how many sacks he had where he avoided contact?
sorry andrew i seem to lack the photographic memory needed to answer that question. who would out of our secondary can handle a fullback on a blitz? yea im drawing a blank to..
My point was you can't say he is the best blitzing member of the secondary when he has gotten a few sacks from hitting an unprotected QB, blindside...
On Saturday, his effort was horrible when somebody stepped up on him. He turned away and gave up on the play... Did you photgraphic memory forget that too?
if you were literate you would of noticed i said i lacked a photographic memory, meaning i do not have one. how do you think he would get to the quarterback untouched?? because he disguised his intention to blitz and timed them perfect, it wasnt luck. hes already a 1/4 of the way to matching gibril wilsons career sack total and thats the only other person i could even make a case for. maybe we should just throw you back there and see what you got left in those legs of yours..
Andrew,
I totally agree with Batman, Aaron Ross is by far the best blitzer in the secondary. His overall speed is his greatest attribute in terms of blitzing. Also Madison Hedgecock could be the greatest fullback in the league right now!
Totally agree with you, Arthur, about the downplaying or exaggerating of the injuries, whichever side you are on. Especially since Tom Coughlin certainly is not going to tell the truth about the severity of the injuries, lest he wants to give Mr. All-Nighter John Gruden a better idea of how to game-plan against the Jints.
Do you really think players with less than a week's recovery from sprained knee ligaments are really going to be effective? If anything, they may only hurt themselves worse. If O'Hara and Mitchell wind up playing, I bet you they'll be out of the game by the start of the second quarter.
And as for Madison... yeah, I love his veteran savvy. But the guy is hurt every other week, it seems. So this is probably his last or second-to-last game as a Giant.
BTW, who's going to be down in Tampa for gameday tailgaiting? Just look for the 30-something balding guys in the old-school Simms road (white) jersey and Brandon Jacobs home jerseys, plus three younger cats in Carl Banks home jersey, Pepper Johnson (#52) home jersey, and Eli Manning home jersey standing beside a Silver Mountaineer in the parking lot. We'll be there by 9 a.m. You bring the grill, and we'll bring the food and drinks... and football!
