Wilson, Jacobs, Ross and Smith out

They're not making the trip to Chicago with the team. Jacobs, Ross and Smith were expected; Wilson, whose unspecified knee injury cropped back up the last two days of practice, was not.

That leaves James Butler and rookies Michael Johnson and Craig Dahl at safety... Corey Webster may play back there in an emergency as well. Which this may be.

Smith has to have the biggest game when he comes back to make this wait actually worth someting

Its a shame because he missed like 6-7 games, all the experience and the QB-reciever relationship

He is a perfect fix for that 3rd slot reciever, just has to stay health, guess the only thing to do is wait and see

Doesnt sound like its going to be a passing game for Sunday, so its not that big of a loss. So he can get a slide this week, better play next week though!

I love how everyone thinks that Steve Smith is the answer to this team's problems! Are we really this desperate? He could probably play and no one would notice he's in the lineup. He's not Randy Moss, he is not going to make a difference.

I'm more concerned with Plaxico, Jacobs, Ross and Wilson. Starting to look a lot like the last two years. Why can't this team stay healthy? I know it's a contact sport, but this is ridiculous.

I think this afternoon we will see just exactly how valuable Gibril Wilson is to this team.

Im just as concerned with the main starters, I dont know if he is the answer or not but the Giants are 2nd or 3rd in drops, they need some good hands which Smith was considered to have

He might not be the #1 anwser the team is looking for, but he could help with the problem of the amount of drop balls

No catches = no yards

Catches = yards = 1st downs = points =)

There are still other problems that need to be answer, but this could be a simple solution to a small problem

Still Giants have issues in some blown coverage on defense (always seem to be one play in a game Falcons that 60+ run TD, Dallas game-Romo almost getting sacked that found a wide open reciever in end zone, one of the first plays in vikings game that long TD pass etc.....)
Offensive Line getting it back together
Special teams use to be a problem but that area has greatly improved

If its not one thing witht the Giants its another

Having a "skittish" QB is bad enough - I'm glad that our GM is not skittish in his observations, thoughts and remarks...
