No one caught sight of Ol' 92, but he was there. Our man Glauber was on the scene.
Strahan arrived at Giants Stadium earlier this afternoon; his arrival was held up by the need for the NFL Players' Association to sign off on the reduction of the fines, which totaled $514,368 -- GM Jerry Reese wouldn't tell Glauber the exact amount, but a person familiar with the total said it was "significant."
So Strahan was not playing games today by showing up well after his teammates had come and gone; rather, it was time spent scrambling to find someone at the PA to sign off on the fine reduction on a holiday. Only then could Strahan show, and show he did, talking to Reese for 10 minutes and TC for a few.
Reese said there's no animosity on the team's side.
From Reese:
“Michael reported to the team this afternoon. His arrival time here at the stadium is no reflection on his desire to be part of this team. There were some practical, administrative issues that needed to be finalized. Obviously, we are glad that Michael is back, that he wants to be back and that he wants to continue his playing career. As I have stated several times since the beginning of training camp, Michael Strahan is a Hall of Fame player and we are a stronger team with him.
"The past few weeks are behind us. We're moving forward. We're looking forward to opening the season in Dallas.
“We have requested and been granted a roster exemption for Michael. The period for the exemption is two games, which means at any point during that time we can put Michael on the active roster.”
From TC:
"“Michael came in this afternoon and we had a good conversation. He wants to be here and he wants to play and it was obvious to me he wants to get to work and be part of this team. We will take the next day or so to assess where Michael is in terms of his conditioning. He has always taken tremendous care of himself. We'll see where he is and as the week progresses, we'll evaluate what kind of role he may play this week.”
He'll be at work tomorrow and perhaps ready to chat with reporters. Plenty of us were there today, huddled around an empty locker. It was kind of amusing.
So don't everyone get all worked up again. The saga is over, and Strahan will be a part of the team.

Thanks for the updates, Arthur. Now, have any of the kickers brought in today been IDd and in any case, did anyone impress?
Let's just hope he comes to play and not just collect a paycheck. Any way the G-men are better with him than without.Look out Homo here come the GIANTS!
I never seen the Rayner kid kick, but I've heard good things. I've heard nothing but bad things about Tynes, and well, I saw some (or maybe few, you could say) bad things from Tynes throughout the preseason games.
Here's just hoping that management chooses the right kicker for us fans to stand by.
Tynes.
Rayner.
Whoever...
I'll be forced to have faith in any kicker they bring to Dallas.
Now that the Strahan bs is over Let's go down to dallas and kick some cowgirl ass!!!! What a perfect way to start the season by going down there and winning AGAIN!!!! I hope we at least stand a chance to do so.
What the heck is wrong with you people??? Stahan is a low life! Look at what he did to his family. Look at how he played his fans and his team. And Tuck is better than him right now. I would sit his wife abusing butt on the bench and only let him on the field on sure passing downs.
Strahan represents all that is bad in a pro athlete. Go on and root for him. It reveals a lot about you too.
Shut up.
Strahan is trash, hope he rots on the bench. Lying scum, it was always about the money. Skipping 100% of camp coming off an injury is pathetic. Hope the next injury pushes him out of the game forever.
So now Tiki says in his new book that Coughlin ran him out of the NFL. Tiki definitely has a short memory. Before Coughlin came Tiki couldn't be trusted with the ball, especially in the Red Zone. He always led the team in fumbles. Coughlin identified the flaw in Tiki carrying the ball and he had his best years. I think Tiki will soon see that fans have longer memories and will stop caring what he has to say in ANY forum; including his radio show, books or TV. Just another ex-athlete that doesn't get it.
Man, I'm so tired of Tiki already and the season hasn't even started yet.
Its amazing how quiet Tiki was in the clubhouse last season. He's a class act now that he's behind a microphone away from teammates. GOOD RIDDANCE! Tiki is ruining his accomplishments with each imbecile remark that comes from his mouth. Will I remember Tiki for the back that he was or for the coward he is now showing us he is. Hard to root for such a shmuck
I cant wait till Brandon Jacobs runs for 2 tds and 150 yrs and tiki can comment on that! what a looser. remember when he was fumble-lie-ah. Was he being over paid then?
Best comments I've seen on Tiki yet: http://popjocks.com/?q=node/332
