He'll be facing reporters later on. I doubt he'll be as genial as he's been the past several media sessions, but he seems like someone who doesn't skirt the tough questions, so we'll see. Our man Erik Boland will be on hand to process the info.
Good job by everyone who weighed in on the Shockey question... And I do mean everyone. Lotta strong opinions out there, which is always good.
As to the D, gmen, my own feeling is that Ross on the outside and Webster in the slot would work; that Kiwanuka to DE, Wilkinson to WLB and Mitchell to SLB would have to be better than what they're doing now; and benching Strahan for a game to let Tuck play would be the smartest thing TC could do.
I might even let Michael Johnson have a crack at James Butler's spot on occasion.
Once Erik gets settled out at the stadium and Spagnuolo has spoken, we'll get some of his stuff up here.

Those all sound like good moves to me. I don't really care what they change on D, I just want to see change.
I think Kiwi needs to go back to DE also. NOt that he can't learn and do well in that position because he is a great athlete. My worry is that Strahan doesnt' have many more years left so why move Kiwi now and worry about getting another DE in a few years?
I agree they should let Tuck play more. He's been one of the few bright spots on the D so far this year.
Nice of them to finally put up a recent picture of you.
I am not sure about the benching part for a game. More like work in Tuck more. If we bench Strahan, then the guy will be a side show act the rest of the year and take the rest of the locker room with him. Remember Osi does everything Strahan does and his statement the I am not moving to the other end for Rice in Aug was a selfish putting it out there statement before anything was even in place.
Art,
I've been thinking - something smells REALLLY fishy. Much has been written the past few days in all the papers about the "leadership" on defense not being around to talk to reporters. That, combined with the talk about how the defense didn't seem 'disgusted' on the sidelines during Sunday's game, how there was no emotion, etc.
I got to thinking - I know you may not want to risk becoming personana non grata in the lockeroom - but, is there something going on in the lockeroom that you could hint at? What I'm getting at here is, I just get this sense that there might be a split in the lockeroom, either amongst a faction of players or the coaching staff? Not trying to start trouble, but something just doens't seem right. Lots of good vibes over training camp about having a fresh new offense with a new coordinator and a fresh new 'attacking' defense with Spags. I dunno - the team just seems like it's not responding to TC again. Last year, it was 'out there', with Strahan and Tiki's comments. I'm not yearning for that again, but it's clear something is going on. Is this going to get fixed? This seems to be more than just play calling.
Im upset none of you reporters have asked Coughlin about James Butler! HE STINKS!! everyone knows Ross and Wilk will eventually start. But S Michael Johnson (6'2 212 from Arizona) should get a shot to start because Butler STINKS!! he cant tackle or cover SO WHY IS HE PLAYING??
Johnson is a player Reese is VERY high on. he cut Demps and Reed 2 veterans because of Johnson. Every scouting report says his strength is coverage skills and he can hit and tackle. STOP babying these rookies start them already. Show the right message and put players out there that want to play. jesus christ what is so hard about asking Tom about Butler.
It doesnt matter if Ross starts. Butler stinks!! Put Johnson in.
Can you please ask Tom or spags about if hes considering a change at SS?? Michael Johnson??
ARTHUR!! ,
Just had to since Jonathan left it off of his comment.
Like the photograph Arthur. Who was that in the previous pic?
Arthur, thanks for the response. Benching Strahan would be honestly the best thing TC could do at this point. I'm excited about Aaron Ross, he'll work out well.
Read your article today. So Pierce wants to be a wise guy and get suggestions from the fans. Here's 2:
1-cover somebody
2-tackle somebody
The giants should break the bank and get a high profile free agent like Asnati Samuels or trade for Hall from Atlanta or maybe be bring in Lance Briggs to sure up the LB"s.
